Thomas Ravenel Quits Southern Charm, Plays the Victim Amidst Rape Allegations
Thomas Ravenel is leaving Southern Charm.
But he isn’t going away quietly.
The lead cast member on this Bravo reality series has been under fire for weeks after TWO women accused Ravenel of sexual assault.
First, there was a nanny, who was hired to care for Ravenel’s two kids.
She alleges that the wealthy Charleston resident came home after a night out in 2015 and tried to kiss her.
After she left one room of his house and went into another, in an attempt to extricate herself from the awkward situation, Ravenel allegedly followed her, closed a door behind her and dropped his pants.
“He proceeded to rip my clothes off,” the nanny told People Magazine, with insiders confirming Ravenel has been under investigation for “first-degree forcible rape.”
Ravenel, meanwhile, is also accused of raping a woman with whom he went on a date three years ago.
In this instance, the alleged victim’s daughter went on record with how Ravenel reportedly pushed his date onto a bed, grabbed her wrists and “stuck his fingers inside of her vagina as well as her anus.”
Ugly, heinous stuff all around if these accusations are true.
With Southern Charm cast members hesitant to film with Ravenel again and pressure mounting from viewers, the former United States Senate candidate Tweeted the following on Tuesday evening:
I’m not doing the show anymore.
In the contract they have the right to fictionalize your story. They took advantage of me.
I decided I’ve got too much to lose and informed them I’m not coming back.
First: What a pompous statement.
Second: Did Ravenel really quit or was he fired and is now just trying to save his reputation?
Ravenel is owning up to nothing here, instead trying to somehow claim that he’s been portrayed in an unfair manner on the series itself…
… despite these rape allegations having nothing to do with anything we’ve seen on Southern Charm air.
Shortly after the two assault stories came to light, a lawyer for Ravenel said the following:
“My client enjoys a certain degree of fame, which has unfortunately made him a vulnerable target for such claims.
“The person this woman describes is simply not the man that I know. My client is a loving father, successful businessman, and upright member of the community.
“He is appalled and hurt by these allegations – and is committed to defending his reputation in the appropriate legal forum.”
Ravenel did not film the season 5 reunion special, although girlfriend Ashley Jacobs did attend the taping to defend the father of two.
“I have seen a new Thomas,” she said there, explaining in further detail as follows:
“I mean, it’s humbling, of course, and now he’s [like] let’s stay in, let’s watch movies, let’s cook dinner, let’s just stay under the radar right now.
“And I’ve just seen a much softer, more sensitive, kinder, more supportive boyfriend. You know, everyone wants to be with you when you’re on top.
“Who’s with you when you’re down there? And I’ve told him, I’ve just said, I’m not leaving.”
Except that she reportedly did leave… only to come back a very short while later.
Does Jacobs think Ravenel assaulted these women?
No.
Does she think he’ll be cleared of the charges?
“Of course, yes,” she said at the reunion.
“And it’s all hearsay. I mean, he’s not been charged with anything. These are just allegations. It used to be, you know, you’re innocent until proven guilty.
“Now you’re guilty until proven innocent.”

Mackenzie Standifer Quits Social Media, Dumps Ryan Edwards?!
Mackenzie Standifer has put up with an awful lot during her brief marriage to Ryan Edwards.
But now it seems she may have finally become fed up with his many awful tendencies.
Ever since Ryan was arrested back in March, he and Mackenzie have both been laying low on social media.
But now, Standifer has taken things a step further.
She appears to have quit Instagram completely, and some Teen Mom OG fans believe they"ve picked up on subtle signs that she and Ryan are no longer together.
Here"s what we know so far:
1. Happier Times
In the wake of his March arrest for a probation violation, Mackenzie initially stood by her man. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of Ryan’s downfall.
2. Repeating a Pattern
The day after the arrest, it was revealed that Ryan had been using an online dating profile to try and cheat on Mackenzie. It was not the first time he had done so.
3. It Gets Worse…
That same week, the public learned that Ryan’s ex, Maci Bookout, had been granted a restraining order after revealing that Ryan had threatened to kill her husband.
4. A Painful Separation
There was a time when Ryan wasn’t even allowed to make contact with his son, Bentley. A judge has since lifted that order of protection, but Ryan’s vistation rights remain in jeopardy.
5. The Future
It’s unclear what’s next for Ryan. He could still be facing jail time, and he’s in for a hell of a custody battle with Maci.
6. Mackenzie’s Next Move

Jacqueline Laurita Rejects RHONJ Offer, Quits For Good
We can say goodbye to shady feuds between Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita, because the latter will not be returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Reportedly, Laurita sat down with producers and, when they couldn’t meet her expectations, declined to return and has now quit the show for good.
Interestingly, Bravo denies that this negotiation ever went down.
According to what a source tells Page Six, Jacqueline Laurita is not returning to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. No matter what.
“She talked to producers and they couldn’t give her what she wanted, so she passed.”
This wasn’t just about money, however, the source says.
Laurita was apparently “stressed.” That makes sense.
Reality television and the fame that goes with it can be a lot to deal with, even if you aren’t a mother of three.
To be fair, however, not everyone agrees with that source’s assessment.
Page Six reached out to Bravo to get their comment about that story.
Their reply was unequivocal:
“This is absolutely not true.”
To be clear, the denial is that Laurita met with producers only to reject their insufficient offer.
Jacqueline Laurita’s career with The Real Housewives of New Jersey has had its ups and downs.
When the series premiered in 2009, she was part of the original cast.
She stuck with it until the sixth season, in 2014, when her status fell to Friend of the Housewives.
Then, she came back as a full Housewife for season 7 … and quit before season 8.
This time, though, it sounds like she’s quit for good.
In August of 2017, Laurita told Page Six that it was her decision to depart from the series.
“They wanted me to come on and start filming part-time to see how the storyline unfolded and then [said they] maybe would make me full-time.”
People generally don’t want to hear that they might get full-time. In that, grocery store employees and Real Housewives stand united.
“They weren’t guaranteeing full-time, so for me to film all season long under all that stress and drama to not have a guaranteed full-time [spot] was not worth it for me, so I said no.”
Good for her for standing her ground, right?
Producers have been on the prowl for a new (or returning) Housewife ever since Laurita’s friend Siggy Flicker quit.
At the time, Flicker wrote an open letter as a statement, explaining that she would never again allow others to control how she was presented to the world.
“I learned that when dealing with a reality show, never ever ever leave your edit in the hands of someone else.”
She then explains, using an analogy.
“Let me tell you why. Imagine the most well-behaved lion — a lion who was raised and surrounded by love — never experiencing cruelty. Now imagine that same lion is caged, poked, prodded, and beaten for weeks.”
This analogy is taking us to a very, very upsetting place.
“Finally, that lion strikes back at its tormentors. The tormentors capture video only of the lion attacking, show that video and label the lion vicious, unpredictable, and unhinged.”
That, she says, was her experience as a reality star.
“Welcome to the last year of my life.”

Julie Bowen and Husband Call Marriage Quits After 13 Years
The immediately family of one Modern Family star is about to change quite a bit.
According to People Magazine, Julie Bowen and her husband of 13 years are going their separate ways.
Bowen and Scott Phillips and got married in 2004 and share three kids together: Oliver, 10; and twins John and Gustav, both of whom are eight.
There had been chatter for several months that Bowen and Phillips were on the outs, largely because they had not been seen together in public for quite some time.
In fact, the pair were last photographed with their children at a Harlem Globetrotters game in Los Angeles nearly a year ago, in February of 2017.
You have to go back farther than that, to September of 2016, to find the last time they walked the red carpet together.
That also took place in Los Angeles, at the LGBT Center 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in West Hollywood.
Phillips – who works as a a real estate investor and software developer – did not attend the Emmy Awards in 2016, despite it being the couple’s 12th wedding anniversary and despite his wife’s sitcom being nominated at the time.
Bowen, however, talked to People Magazine about the apparent snub and said there was nothing to read into it.
“He’s come every year, he’s been so supportive and this year he was playing in a tennis tournament and I wasn’t nominated as an individual so I said, ‘What do you want to do on our anniversary?’’ she told the publication back then, adding:
“I mean it’s such an honor to be nominated and to go, but it’s tough to be a purse holder.”
That sounds reasonable.
And it’s very possible that Phillips’ lack of attendance was unrelated to any marital strige.
Elsewhere, in an interview with Us Weekly, the actress joked about being “too tired” to break up with Scott.
“We watch all these people get married and split up and go, ‘Wait, did they get married after us or before us? We outlast all these people,” she remarked.
“The answer: We’re too tired to do anything else!”
That’s sort of funny… until it becomes clear that it’s actually more revealing than anything else.
Bowen, of course has starred as Claire Dunphy on Modern Family since 2009.
She has earned two Emmy Awards for the role and many millions of dollars.
We wish both her and Phillips nothing but the best as they head into their futures.

Grandma the Clown Quits Big Apple Circus Amidst Sex Scandal
The #MeToo movement has come to the big top.
In a disturbing story broken by The New York Times, the man behind one of The Big Apple Circus’ most beloved performers has resigned due to an allegation of sexual misconduct.
And Barry Lubin has admitted via statement that this allegation is accurate.
The 65-year old quit his post on Friday as a clown who dresses up in pearls and a wig after a 16-year-old aerialist alleged he pressured her into posing for pornographic photos in 2004.
Through his lawyer, Lubin acknowledged the veracity of the claim and simply said in response:
“What I did was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my actions.”
The most famous circus in the nation just completed its annual three-month run at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
It will soon open in Alpharetta, Georgia… but it will do so without Lubin and without the character he portrayed for several years.
According to circus chairman Neil Kahanovitz, a woman named Zoey Dunne leveled her accusation against Lubin in 2012.
However, there was little those associated with the circus could do about it back then because Lubin had actually left the circus.
(Kahanovitz was NOT serving as chairman at the time and says no executive working for the circus when Dunne initially filed her charge is working there now.)
Three months ago, however, Dunne learned that Lubin had returned as Grandma and once again made her complaint known.
She is now 29 years old, married, and pursuing a doctorate in school psychology in Seattle.
“I saw this ad that said ‘Grandma is back!,’” Dunne told The Times on Monday, explaining how she learned of Lubin’s reprisal and adding:
“I almost threw up on the bus.”
On Friday, Dunne reached out to Kahanovitz and he immediately took action.
Dunne tells the newspaper that she met Lubin when she was touring New England with Circus Smirkus, a youth troupe that Mr. Lubin helped coach as recently as last summer.
Lubin told her at the time that he also wanted her to be a model for his personal photography business.
She agreed and showed up at Lincoln Center, prior to being escorted by Lubin to his trailer.
Lubin proceeded to have Dunne lie down and pose in a bathing suit.
He then asked her to picture Ashton Kutcher, expecting this to lead to a state of arousal for Dunne.
“I felt overwhelmingly sad, not excited,” she tells The Times.
From there, Lubin directed her to change into a thong, spread her legs and hold a paintbrush up to her genital area. He asked her to hike her underpants up to the side.
Dunne complied.
Lubin paid her $ 100 in cash and warned her not to tell the circus, claiming folks there would be angry that he was doing outside work in their trailer.
This same process then happened a second time, at Lubin’s insistence.
After working as an aerialist for the circus, Dunne quit the industry and drifted for several years.
“I just felt really confused and lost and ashamed,” she says.
During this time, Grandma the Clown became a very popular figure, spraying himself with a hose during shows and eating popcorn out of the hands of audience members.
In his statement, Lubin apologized directly to Dunne, using her maiden name, Phillips.
“I know that what happened has had a lasting impact on her life, for which I am sorry,” he said, concluding:
“I not only failed Ms. Phillips, but I also failed in my responsibility as a man, an adult, a father, and as a representative of the Big Apple Circus.”

Jeffrey Tambor Quits Transparent Amidst Sexual Harassment Scandal
Jeffrey Tambor has dropped out of Transparent.
The Emmy Award-winning actor, who has been accused of sexual harassment by two women who worked on the Amazon series, released a statement along with his resignation that was anything, but…well…
… resigned.
Quite the opposite, in fact, as Tambor did not admit to any wrongdoing, while lashing out at the toxic environment that he says has engulfed the critically-acclaimed program.
Transparent recently wrapped up its fourth season.
“Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life,” Tambor said in his statement.
He added:
“What has become clear over the past weeks, however, is that this is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago.
“I’ve already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue.
“Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set, I don’t see how I can return to Transparent.”
Among other allegations, Tambor has been accused by a transgender co-star of making lewd, sexually suggestive remarks.
This same co-star says the actor even pressed up against her in a sexual, suggestive manner.
A former assistant has also made troubling claims against the veteran star.
In a previous statement, Tambor said the following:
“I know I haven’t always been the easiest person to work with. I can be volatile and ill-tempered, and too often I express my opinions harshly and without tact.
“But I have never been a predator — ever.”
In the wake of these disturbing allegations, Amazon announced it was investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, numerous individuals and groups – including Transparent writer-producer Our Lady J and GLAAD – have called for the show to continue without Tambor.
Neither creator Jill Solloway nor Amazon has commented since Tambor announced he is leaving the show.
The veteran actor has won a pair of Emmys for his portrayal of Maura, while he also brought two other iconic television characters to life:
1. Hank Kingsley on The Larry Sanders Show.
2. George Bluth on Arrested Development.
Transparent now becomes the second award-winning series to face an uncertain future in the wake of its lead star being accused of sexual harassment or misconduct.
After Kevin Spacey faced on specific claim of attempted sexual assault, along with multiple allegations of creating uncomfortable working conditions on House of Cards, Netflix let the actor go.
It’s unclear just how or when the show will continue.
And the same can be said of Transparent.

Mavis Wanczyk Wins Record Powerball Prize, Immediately Quits Job

The native of Chicopee, Massachusetts is a mother of two who purchased a lottery ticket this month from a local Pride Station & Store and won…

The 53-year old took home the largest single jackpot in Powerball history as a result, announcing almost immediately afterward in a press conference that she has quit her job as a hospital worker.
And it bears repeating: We don’t blame her!
“I had a pipe dream, and my pipe dream has finally come true, I wanted to retire and it came early!” Wanczyk told reporters today, adding:
“I called [my employer] and told them I will not be coming back. The first thing I want to do is I just want to sit back and relax.”
Lotto officials estimate that Mavis take home $ 336,350,655 after taxes.
She says she selected the winning numbers based on her family’s birthdays, which is basically the same strategy used by every other individual who has ever played the lottery.
The winning numbers chosen late Wednesday night were 6, 7, 16, 23, 26 – and Powerball number 4.
What was the basis for Wanczyk settling on that final number?
“I just bought it for luck,” she said. “Maybe it’ll be me, maybe it won’t be me. It was a chance I had to take.”
Before she appeared at the aforementioned press conference with executives from the Massachusetts State Lottery, executive director Michael Sweeney referred to Wanczyk as “a prototypical Massachusetts resident.”
“My perception of her is someone who’s a hard-working individual. Clearly she’s excited,” he said.
The $ 758 million prize reflects the annuity option and it will be paid over 29 years.
What will the single mother do with her winnings?
“I want to just be me and be alone and… figure out what I want to do,” she said, admitting she has no immediate plans.
She also said she didn’t follow the drawing closely last night, assuming she would not win of course.
A colleague passed along the amazing news to her this morning.
UPDATE: Mavis actually chose the lump sum instead of the monthly payments. She’ll receive $ 480 million, or $ 336 million after taxes.

Ed Sheeran Quits Twitter Following Game of Thrones Backlash
If you watched the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere on Sunday night, then you may have found yourself mildly repulsed at a scene that seemed to come straight out of left field.
No, we"re not talking about the weird Citadel montage with the match-cuts between bowls of stew and full chamber pots (although, seriously: ew.)
We"re talking about Ed Sheeran"s cameo as a soldier who croons "Hands of Gold," a song featuring lyrics that may offer some important hints about what"s to come.
GoT fans didn"t love Sheeran"s cameo, and with good reason.
The stunt-casting amounted to a major misstep by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, perhaps their biggest to date.
Sheeran"s appearance distracted from the events of the scene, and tonally, his appearance felt out of step not only with the rest of the episode, but with the rest of the series.
The blame rests with Weiss and Benioff, not Sheeran, but nevertheless, the singer was the butt of a good number of jokes on Twitter.
The unwanted attention was such that the 26-year-old deleted his account.
