Texas Grandma Kills 12-Foot Alligator to Avenge Pet Miniature Horse

Animal lovers may have some serious mixed feelings about this story, but everyone can enjoy hearing about a badass grandma who is also a mayor.

Years ago, a Texas grandmother"s pet miniature horse vanished, and she long suspected that a particularly large alligator was the culprit.

Now, the grandmother — who is also her town"s mayor — has exacted revenge by luring and killing a 12 foot alligator.

Grandma gator 01

Judy Cochran only needed to fire a single shot to end the life of the 12-foot-long, 580 pound alligator on her ranch in Goodrich, Texas.

Cochran explains that this was no random alligator killing — it was personal.

"We think this is the gator that ate one of our miniature horses several years ago," Cochran explains.

"As big as this gator was," she says. "He could"ve easily eaten it."

She may have only needed one bullet to do the deed, but the preparation actually took a lot more doing.

Grandma gator 02

Texas has its reputation, but it isn"t The Purge. Or Florida. They have laws.

Cochran explains that Polk County, where she lives, allows only a narrow window for anyone wishing to hunt an alligator.

Sunday, September 16, falls within the September 10 – 20 window.

Additionally, she had to obtain a permit and the appropriate tags. Additionally, Texas law requires someone intending to shoot an alligator to first capture their intended victim on a hook.

Cochran did just that. As she explains: "We don"t just go to the ranch and hunt a gator."

Grandma gator 05

This year, Cochran became the mayor of the nearby town of Livingston.

She was in a meeting when her son-in-law informed her that she needed to head home, because the alligator had been snared.

They had tried a number of baits, including a pig"s liver. What finally worked was a seasoned raccoon carcass.

She couldn"t just abandon her job, so she finished work and then headed to the ranch where she fired the shot that ended the hooked alligator"s life.

Cochran fired the shot using her Winchester .22 Magnum.

Grandma gator 03

She plans to mount the alligator head in her office.

The rest will not go to waste, as she plans to enjoy the alligator"s meat for food and the hide for boots.

It is worth noting that she slew this alligator at the same spot where, nine years ago, her then-5-year-old grandson slew a slightly larger gator.

He achieved a measure of viral fame at the time, even appearing on talk shows.

it is expected that Cochran, who recently became a great-grandmother, will do the same. But she may be too busy being mayor.

Grandma gator 04

Obviously, there are issues with this story that make it controversial.

It sounds like alligators eating the miniature horse was just a theory, and even if so, difficult to pin on this particular alligator.

it is also, well, strange for anyone to seek revenge on an alligator.

A lot of people find it alarming that anyone is letting a 5-year-old hold a gun, let alone use one to kill something for fun.

Finally, some people are just surprised that this story didn"t take place in Florida.

Grandma the Clown Quits Big Apple Circus Amidst Sex Scandal

The #MeToo movement has come to the big top.

In a disturbing story broken by The New York Times, the man behind one of The Big Apple Circus’ most beloved performers has resigned due to an allegation of sexual misconduct.

g. clown

And Barry Lubin has admitted via statement that this allegation is accurate.

The 65-year old quit his post on Friday as a clown who dresses up in pearls and a wig after a 16-year-old aerialist alleged he pressured her into posing for pornographic photos in 2004.

Through his lawyer, Lubin acknowledged the veracity of the claim and simply said in response:

“What I did was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my actions.”

The most famous circus in the nation just completed its annual three-month run at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

It will soon open in Alpharetta, Georgia… but it will do so without Lubin and without the character he portrayed for several years.

According to circus chairman Neil Kahanovitz, a woman named Zoey Dunne leveled her accusation against Lubin in 2012.

However, there was little those associated with the circus could do about it back then because Lubin had actually left the circus.

(Kahanovitz was NOT serving as chairman at the time and says no executive working for the circus when Dunne initially filed her charge is working there now.)

Three months ago, however, Dunne learned that Lubin had returned as Grandma and once again made her complaint known.

She is now 29 years old, married, and pursuing a doctorate in school psychology in Seattle.

“I saw this ad that said ‘Grandma is back!,’” Dunne told The Times on Monday, explaining how she learned of Lubin’s reprisal and adding:

“I almost threw up on the  bus.”

grandma

On Friday, Dunne reached out to Kahanovitz and he immediately took action.

Dunne tells the newspaper that she met Lubin when she was touring New England with Circus Smirkus, a youth troupe that Mr. Lubin helped coach as recently as last summer.

Lubin told her at the time that he also wanted her to be a model for his personal photography business.

She agreed and showed up at Lincoln Center, prior to being escorted by Lubin to his trailer.

Lubin proceeded to have Dunne lie down and pose in a bathing suit.

He then asked her to picture Ashton Kutcher, expecting this to lead to a state of arousal for Dunne.

“I felt overwhelmingly sad, not excited,” she tells The Times.

From there, Lubin directed her to change into a thong, spread her legs and hold a paintbrush up to her genital area. He asked her to hike her underpants up to the side.

Dunne complied.

da clown

Lubin paid her $ 100 in cash and warned her not to tell the circus, claiming folks there would be angry that he was doing outside work in their trailer.

This same process then happened a second time, at Lubin’s insistence.

After working as an aerialist for the circus, Dunne quit the industry and drifted for several years.

“I just felt really confused and lost and ashamed,” she says.

During this time, Grandma the Clown became a very popular figure, spraying himself with a hose during shows and eating popcorn out of the hands of audience members.

In his statement, Lubin apologized directly to Dunne, using her maiden name, Phillips.

“I know that what happened has had a lasting impact on her life, for which I am sorry,” he said, concluding:

“I not only failed Ms. Phillips, but I also failed in my responsibility as a man, an adult, a father, and as a representative of the Big Apple Circus.”

Rapper & Grandma Form Unlikely Bond Over Words with Friends

As an aspiring rapper, 22-year old Spencer Sleyon has likely been involved in many rap battles.

But the young New York resident has reached viral fame thanks to a different kind of battle:

The one he has engaged in often via Words with Friends… with an 81-year old named Rosalind Guttman.

The latter is a resident of Florida and the Internet is going bat $ hit bananas over Spencer and Rosalind finally meeting face-to-face, following over 300 installments of their online Words with Friends contests.

Ready to get to know the people at the center of this most unlikely of friendships?

Scroll down to learn their inspiring story…

1. Say Hi to Roz and Spencer

Say hi to roz and spencer

The 22-year oldand 81-year old started talking in earnest after Roz used the word “Phat” while playing Words with Friends, which is essentially the same as Scrabble and which enables one to do battle against folks one knows… or against total strangers.

2. A Phat Friendship

A phat friendship

“I was like, yo, how do you know that word?” Sleyon asked Roz, making the first real contact between the pair outside of the game. They soon got to talking often, while continuing to go at it on Words with Friends.

3. How Many Times Have They Played?

How many times have they played

Over 300, Spencer estimates. That’s about once every other day, starting from last summer up through this late fall.

4. Who’s Winning Overall?

Whos winning overall

It’s sort of close, but Spencer does want the world to know he’s put in front at the moment. Look at those stats, though!

6. How Did This Happen?

The meeting was up by a pastor in Manhattan who knew Spencer and learned of his unexpected friendship with Roz. “I’m all for just experiencing stuff, I was like ‘yeah,"” Sleyon said when asked if he wanted to meet Roz. “I love random occurrences, I thought it was cool I was able to befriend her.”

Jackson Roloff "Helps" Grandma Amy Roloff Pick Out a Tree!

It’s only been a few days since the Roloff family held Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean that they’re getting out of the holiday spirit. Because, well, it’ll be December by the end of the week.

The Roloffs have zero chill about the holidays, and they’re making sure that baby Jackson Roloff is feeling the Christmas spirit.

Because he and his parents helped Amy Roloff and Amy’s boyfriend pick out a Christmas tree. Awwww!

Tori Roloff shared this precious family photo — note the trees in the background.

Jackson is getting so big!

Tori’s caption explained the context:

“Today we helped Grandma Roloff get her Christmas tree!”

We’re sure that Amy appreciated the company!

That line was followed by a blue heart emoji.

Tori continued her caption with exactly the sort of sweet and caring words that we’d expect from her:

“So blessed to call these people family.”

And they’re blessed to call Tori their family, as well.

“The way holidays bring everyone together fills my cup with such joy.”

That’s an odd expression, but odd in a good way (and I might just steal it).

Tori also shares warm wishes for her fans and followers:

“I am praying that this season bring your family joy!”

After that came a red heart emoji and a tree emoji (a treemoji?), and the hashtags:

“#zandtpartyofthree #seestorsfolife #babyjroloff”

It’s worth noting that Amy Roloff’s “controversial” boyfriend was also there.

While we don’t imagine that Jackson was instrumental in picking out the tree, we’re sure that everyone enjoyed the quality time together.

The Roloff family just celebrated Thanksgiving last week, and the Roloffs have a lot to be thankful for.

They already did, admittedly — Amy and Matt were financially successful before they ever began living on a farm. And now, of course, the whole family is famous through the reality series, Little People, Big World.

Zach Roloff is thankful to have his wife, Tori. Jeremy Roloff is thankful to have his wife, Audrey.

And, of course, Zach and Tori welcomed their first child, precious baby Jackson, back during the spring.

More recently, Audrey and Jeremy Roloff welcomed baby Ember Jean into their lives. Audrey has struggled with some post-partum issues, but we’re sure that the couple is still very grateful for a healthy birth and their beautiful daughter.

And Matt and Amy Roloff are delighted to have not one but two wonderful grandbabies.

The whole family gets to watch Jackson and Ember Jean grow up together.

And the Roloff family might have another thing for which to be thankful.

Amy Roloff and Tori Roloff both seemed to refer to Jacob Roloff’s girlfriend, Isabel Rock, as family.

That, on top of Isabel recently mentioning a major life decision, might mean that Jacob has proposed to his girlfriend and that the two are engaged.

That’s what some fans believe, anyway.

And if so, that would be wonderful. Jacob has spent time estranged from his family, but he’s been reconnecting recently — which is welcome news on its own.

But it really would be amazing to see the Roloffs officially welcome Isabel into the fold. And, honestly, it looks like they already have.

Grandma Buys X-Rated Book for 6-Year Old, Twitter Erupts

They say you should never judge a book by its cover.

And the following story is living, hilarious proof of that classic saying.

Earlier this week, a Twitter user with the handle “@Tiffany1985B” explained that her mother purchased a book for her six-year old granddaughter titled “If Animals Could Talk.”

Sounds adorable, right?

As you"re about to find out below, not quite…

1. Ah, Grandmas!

Ah grandmas

You’ve gotta love them, right? This one obviously meant well here.

2. Non. Stop. Laughter.

Non stop laughter

Thankfully, the mother had a great response and the right attitude to this misguided gift.

3. And How Can She Not?

And how can she not

When this is the first page!

4. Obviously Meant for Adults

Obviously meant for adults

Just like the classic “Go The F*ck To Sleep,” this book is hilariously diguised as a children’s book, but isn’t exactly appropriate for anyone under the age of 13.

5. LOL!

Lol

This is our new favorite book.

6. Hard Drugs and Harsh Language

Hard drugs and harsh language

Seriously, how is this not a New York Times bestseller?

Bryan Abasolo: My Grandma LOVES Rachel Lindsay!

Rachel Lindsay’s final choice on The Bachelorette was not exactly popular within the Bachelor Nation.

Though Rachel and Bryan Abasolo are still together and engaged, a lot of fans didn’t approve of the union, thinking that, basically, Bryan Abasolo just says whatever Rachel wants to hear and wondering how long that could last.

The couple found one very important person who approves of their union, however: Bryan Abasolo’s grandmother. And this photo of the three of them together is worth seeing.

Rachel Lindsay must really love Bryan Abasolo.

Not only because she chose him over Peter Kraus and not only because they’re still engaged, months after they wrapped filming on The Bachelorette.

But Rachel loves Bryan so much that she’s willing to spend time celebrating their engagement down in Miami, Florida.

In August.

You know how I sometimes refer to L.A. as a “desert hellscape” because that is an accurate description of the American southwest?

Well, Florida is worse.

Large areas of the southeastern US are hot and humid during the summer, because life is full of suffering.

But Florida takes that to a whole other level, with summers filled with short, daily rainstorms that leave you only slightly more damp than the humid air itself.

Rachel Lindsay is from Texas, where it’s all kinds of hot, but while all heat is a source of absolute misery for non-reptiles, a dry heat is always, always preferable.

On the positive side, Bryan Abasolo’s grandma lives in Miami and Rachel got to meet her and pass the all-important grandma test.

Look at that grandma!

She’s so cute!

Bryan captioned the photo:

“Grandma’s approval is always important…of course she passed the test w/ flying colors. #Miami #familytime #grandmaslove”

(She meaning Rachel Lindsay, of course)

It’s no surprise that Rachel Lindsay would win Grandma’s approval.

She’s gorgeous and charming, which is why she became the Bachelorette in the first place.

Sadly, some people don’t get along with their in-laws. Ever.

(And based on what we saw on the show, Rachel Lindsay’s family doesn’t care for Bryan Abasolo)

Rachel seems very happy with her choice.

As much as people can’t understand why Rachel would turn down someone like Peter Kraus, let’s look at it from Rachel’s perspective:

Rachel Lindsay wants a larger-than-life romance straight out of a fairytale.

To Rachel, Bryan Abasolo’s willingness to get married and declare his love immediately was even more important than Peter Kraus’ abs.

Many fans pointed out that Peter’s statement that he wasn’t sure that he’d be ready to propose at the end of the season was affirming how seriously he takes relationships and his desire to get to know Rachel off-camera.

To Rachel, however, it came across as a red flag about commitment issues.

Calling Peter Kraus a manipulator, Rachel described sensing an emotional “push and pull” from Peter.

Honestly, that may just have more to do with Rachel’s relationship history and the baggage from it than it does with Peter.

And you know what?

Maybe Bryan Abasolo and Rachel Lindsay really are perfectly suited for each other.

We may have to accept that Peter Kraus might not be the next Bachelor, because life is defined by suffering we guess.

We would love to see him find a partner whose views about love and romance and relationships really mesh with his.

Plus, you know, Peter charmed audiences and has a lot of fans, so that’s a huge bonus.

But let’s prepare ourselves for alternatives, okay?

The Bachelor may star Dean Unglert for all that we know, which would also be amazing.

We have to wonder if Rachel Lindsay will watch a season if it stars one of her exes.

Amy Roloff Loves Her Some "Grandma Time." And We Don"t Blame Her!

Jackson Roloff may already be three months old, but he’s still young enough to cuddle with Grandma.

And snuggle with Grandma and play with toys with Grandma and just be generally cute and precious and awesome and adorable with Grandma.

The latest Little People, Big World cast member stars in a new photo alongside Amy Roloff on Instagram, one shared by the reality show matriarch and one we simply can’t get enough of.

Because it’s so darn delightful!

“Just having a little baby Jackson time w/ Grandma Amy,” wrote Roloff as a caption, adding:

“I just can’t get enough of this little guy. Gave Tori a chance to catch up on some chores around the house. Love my grandma time w/ him.”

The TLC mainstay concluded her post with the hashtags “#secondact #grandmaroloff.”

Amy has clearly been enjoying her stint as a grandmother, which bodes well because she’s about to do it all over again:

Audrey Roloff and Jeremy Roloff are expecting their first child any week now. The former is due to give birth to a girl on August 31.

Jacksons first trip to the zoo!!! thanks for tagging along grandma roloff! #babyjroloff, wrote Tori to this photograph of her and her son.

Amy and Matt Roloff, meanwhile, may be divorced after nearly 30 years of marriage, but they remain on good terms and their relationship has only been helped by the arrivalof Jackson.

Both grandparents simply can’t get enough of the little guy.

Earlier this month, Matt shared his own sweet snapshot of himself and Jackson on Instagram, writing as a very nice caption to the image:

“I’m the luckiest grandpa ever.. I get to see Jackson almost every single day.. often several times each day.”

Matt followed up by showing gratitude to his son and daughter-in-law for letting their child spend so much time with his extended family members.

“Thank you, Zach and Tori, for coming to the farm so often,” he added.

Earlier this month, Amy and Matt came together to attend daughter Molly Roloff’s wedding to Joel Silvius.

In photos from the special day, baby Jackson is seen wearing a button-down and bow tie, sending a message to women around the state in several years:

Look out for this one! He’s gonna break some hearts!

19 Reasons Grandma Should Never Text Again

We"ve already listed a number of reasons why grandfather should never really send a text message.

But what about grandmothers? Are they more adept at this form of technology than their elderly counterparts?

In short: No.

However, this just makes it all the funnier for those of us who get to read what some grandmothers have texted over the years.

Consider the following, hilarious cases in point…

1. Oklahoma!

Oklahoma

Sure, why not, Grandma? It’s lovely state.

2. Wild and Wooly Time!

Whatever that means.

3. You Say Chicken, I Say Children

Amy Roloff: Go Inside Her Sexy Grandma Shower!

On this week’s episode of Little People, Big World, Zach and Tori Roloff were faced with a very important decision:

Would the latter welcome her first child via vaginal birth or a C-section?

It was a pretty serious topic to debate, considering the health hazards associated with both procedures.

But not every storyline on the latest installment of this TLC series was caked in such drama.

For instance: Amy Roloff was treated to a special Grandma Shower in anticipation of her first-ever grandchildren!

With Tori set to give birth on the show (in real life, she has already done so. We see you, little Jackson Kyle!) and Audrey Roloff due in September, Amy was the guest of honor at a gathering that included 19 of her closest family members and friends.

It took place at the Roloff family farm in Oregon.

And, in addition to gushing over adorable onesies and blankets, the women celebrated more in the style of a Bachelorette bash than a conservative baby shower.

How so? Well…

Amy and her pals drank champagne and played a game of “pin the panties on the granny,” which is basically a far dirtier version of “pin the tail on the donkey.”

Moreover, because Amy is a “dating grandma,” as one friend labeled her, referencing Amy’s romance with Chris Marek, not every gift was rated G.

“Oh my gosh!” exclaimed Amy after unwrapping some black tissue paper and discovering… a pink lingerie set!

“Do I even have boobs to full this out?” she asked in response.

In a confessional, Roloff later admitted that the present caught her off guard.

She doesn’t consider herself to be a pink teddy type of person. Not usually.

“I was a little embarrassed,” the 52-year old told the camera. “Like, Lisa, what are you doing? You should have given this to me in private!”

Still, by the time the party was over, Amy admitted she felt “very blessed.”

And that was the case a few weeks later, of course, when Tori gave birth to Jackson.

“He’s captured my heart! Baby Jackson,” Amy wrote as a caption to the photo above of her and her grandson.

She added on Instagram:

“Thank you for all the love, support, and encouragement you’ve shown to me, Zach and Tori, and my family over the years. I so appreciate you making our family a part of yours a little bit in watching #tlc #lpbw.

“You’re awesome fans and I thank you so much for that. I appreciate y’all and the time you take to comment.

“Thanks for always watching! All the best to you all the time.”

How sweet, right?

We’ve been watching this family evolve and grow for over a decade now.

Click through the photo gallery above to see just how far everyone has come in that time.

Chimp Hurls Feces at Zoo Goers, Nails Grandma in the Face

You know what they say:

It"s all fun and games until someone gets clobbered in the face with a chunk of money feces.

Visitors to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan now have a better understanding of this classic saying, following an incident on Sunday that has since gone viral.

As you can see below, a strong crowd had gathered around the second-story viewing area of the chimpanzee enclosure when one animal in particular got really excited to see everyone.

He made a lot of sounds. He jumped all around. He entertained everyone who had paid to see pretty much this exact thing.

Until he proceeded to wind up and hurl his own excrement at those gawking over his every utterance and gesture!

“It got Grandma!” a boy hilariously yells in the video below, as a woman sitting in an electric scooter turns to face her family in absolute horror, poop smeared across her nose.

She is NOT amused.

Erin Vargo, an employee of John Ball Zoo, captured the whole thing on camera.

“So Jake and I thought we were going to have an average day at the zoo… turns out it would be the day of the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Vargo posted on Facebook Sunday afternoon, adding:

“I’m seriously dying of laughter. And I can’t believe I got it on video."

And now you can watch it all unfold on said video! Click PLAY!
