Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson: Inside Their Scandalous Love Story

Sometime in the near future, Josiah Duggar will marry Lauren Swanson.

As for exactly when the couple will say "I do" … well, the Duggars are keeping that information under their hats.

Why? Well, they would have us believe it"s because they don"t want obsessive fans crashing the party.

But fans think there"s something much more sinister going on here.

So join us as we take a deep dive into the most scandalous Duggar courtship to date and try to sort out the mystery that is Josiah and Lauren"s romance:

1. Young Love

Josiah and Lauren reportedly hit it off immediately and began talking marriage just days after their courtship began back in January.

2. International Intrigue

Rumors of Josiah and Lauren’s courtship began when Swanson was spotted traveling with the Duggar clan during their trip to Australia. The couple announced their courtship shortly after returning to the States.

3. Making It Official

Of course, fans couldn’t really be sure this thing was for real until the family released one of their traditional welcoming videos in which Jim Bob and Michelle do all the talking, and it’s mostly about Jesus.

4. Keeping Up Appearances

At this point, Josiah and Lauren’s courtship appeared to be very similar to the Duggar romances that preceded it. Of course, there were already some key differences.

5. A Different Breed

Josiah has always been regarded as the most rebellious of his siblings. So perhaps it’s fitting that he’s taken the loosest interpretation of his family’s strict courtship rules.

6. Round Two

The most obvious way that Josiah is unique among his siblings is that his first courtship didn’t result in marriage.

Yes, the prospect of a Farrah Abraham-J.J. Abrams collaboration has our minds racing with possibility.

Unfortunately, at this point, the project exists only in Farrah’s fevered imagination.

It seems that ever since being fired from Teen Mom OG for her refusal to stop performing in online sex shows, Ms. Abraham has had a lot of time on her hands.

While much of that time has been dedicated to less-than-productive pursuits, such as getting arrested for attacking hotel staff, she’s also been casually toying with the idea of dropping a new Citizen Kane on all our asses.

Yes, Farrah is hoping to adapt her memoir, My Teenage Dream Ended, into a Hollywood feature film.

And she knows just who she wants in charge of the project.

“I’m working on storyboards right now and the screenplay, it’s really a project and a challenge and it’s crazy good,” she recently explained to TooFab.

“I can’t wait, I’m on my first draft right now and it’s going beyond what was said in the book.”

But don’t worry, Farrah isn’t straying too far from the magic that made Teenage Dream the Moby Dick of reality TV memoirs.

“The book is a classic, and that’s where everything stems from, and that’s the main storyline, which we need to stick with,” Farrah says.

“But I also think showing some before and after the show is really what the fans want, so we’re getting that and I can’t wait to show that. It’s going to be very interesting.”

Yes, Farrah just unironically described her memoir as a classic.

And who knows? Maybe in 40 years, schoolchildren will be writing book reports about the various symbolic meanings of the term “backdoor” in Farrah’s masterwork.

Believe it or not, that seems more plausible than Farrah’s plans for the movie version of her book.

You see, Farrah not only thinks this film is getting made, she’s convinced it’s gonna win every Oscar and make a cool few billion at the international box office.

“We’re going to have a real casting director, producers, the best of the best for everything,” she stated.

“Maybe I’ll work with J.J. Abrams, there are some other people on my top list.

“The production companies associated with I, Tonya, I really think they would get this storyline as well. So I can’t wait to see who’s the best fit.”

Actually … comparing herself to Tonya Harding might actually be the least-dumb thing Farrah has ever done.

As for JJ’s involvement — well, can envision that meeting now:

Abrams: So what’s this project all about?

Cigar-Munching Hollywood Type: A reality star who sells plastic molds of her b-hole on the internet. But don’t worry; it’s got a real casting director!

Abrams: Sold!

As for who will play the role of Farrah, it’s tough to predict which direction her ego will take her in on this one.

Obviously, she would relish the attention that would come with playing herself.

But at the same time, the allure of recruiting some A-list Oscar-winner like Jennifer Lawrence might be too strong to resist.

Leah Messer Shares Heartbreaking Story About Her Daughter"s Disease

Teen Mom is filled to the brim with sadness, right?

All kinds of sadness too — we’ve seen children be neglected, we’ve seen the parents deal with drug addiction and domestic violence and prison.

But there’s one story that pretty much takes the sadness cake when it comes to this show, and that’s the story of Leah Messer’s daughter, Ali.

Ali is one of the twins Leah had as a teenager, and she suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy.

On the show, we’ve seen Leah and Ali’s father, Corey Simms, struggle to figure out what was wrong with Ali, and we saw how heartbreaking it was when they realized how serious her condition is.

We’ve seen them be told time and time again that she needs to use her wheelchair and to wear a helmet and to get help, and we’ve seen them slacking on that so she could have a more “normal” childhood.

It’s the nature of Ali’s condition that as time goes on, the disease will get worse and worse. We can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to watch from Leah’s perspective.

But thanks to this ridiculously tragic story she shared on Twitter, we can get a little glimpse of it.

“As I’m doing Ali girls makeup she looks at me and says ‘Mom, what’s it like to see with two eyes?’ …” she wrote.

“Everyday I wish I could take her place but I know there’s a greater purpose!” she added. “Just broke my heart.”

… Ouch.

Way back when Ali and Gracie were toddlers, Leah began noticing that there was something wrong with Ali’s eyes and legs — those were the first signs of her disease.

Since then, Ali’s been wearing glasses, and now it’s clear that she’s not even able to see out of one eye.

As Leah explained after this initial tweets, “this is the first time she’s asked” anything about her eyes, and “she’s starting to ask a lot of questions like this.”

Thankfully though, Leah seems to have a good attitude about it all.

Someone told her that Ali loves her life and she wouldn’t even want to switch places with Leah — which, yeah, obviously, it’s not like Leah was proposing a Freaky Friday scheme.

“Ohh for sure!!” she replied. “I don’t think of it negatively at all. It’s just like, dayyyyuum. Sooo many take the little things in life for granted.”

She also retweeted a bunch of nice messages about Ali.

Things like “You continue to do everything you can for her and your love for her shines. Some days are tough, but always focus on her smile and cherish every memory.”

And also “She will be phenomenal because of her struggles. She will not struggle in vain. She has purpose. Purpose to overcome and live a beautiful life.”

Thanks for the good, hard cry, Leah!

Claire Holt Shares Heartbreaking Miscarriage Story

Claire Holt has shared a message on Instagram that no woman ever wants to share.

But it’s one the actress deemed too important to keep to herself.

In a heartbreaking caption, the former Vampire Diaries and Originals star tells followers that she recently suffered a miscarriage.

“I took this photo 10 days ago, as I waited for surgery after my sweet little baby lost its heartbeat,” Holt says to open her post, which is included alongside a picture of herself in a hospital gown and bed.

She then adds of Matt Kaplan and the basis for the selfie:

“I sent it to my fiancé in the waiting room to show him that I was ok. I wasn’t. I’ve never felt more broken in my life.”

Why did Holt decide to make this personal pain into a public statement?

“I debated sharing this so soon and I’m still frightened about making such a private struggle public, but I’m doing it anyway because it’s important,” she explains, prior to delving into a lot more detail.

Out of respect for what Holt went through, we’re just going to post the rest of her caption word-for-word, letting her powerful words speak for themselves…

After my D & C, I spent hours on the internet searching for women who had been through it.

I was desperate to find someone, anyone, who could relate to what I was feeling. Someone to tell me that the depression and hopelessness were normal. That it wasn’t my fault. That I wasn’t broken forever.

I found a community of women who shared my exact experience. Who were open and vulnerable about miscarriage, something that isn’t often or openly discussed.

It breaks my heart to think that losing a baby feels like something we have to keep to ourselves. Why is it any different than the death of a loved one? How is it any less meaningful?

Here is what I have learned as I begin to crawl out of the dark hole: support is everything. I could not have survived this without the unconditional love of my partner.

Despite his pain, he was my rock and my safety net. I will never know how to thank him. I also found that opening up to people is crucial.

As soon as I told my story, almost everyone I spoke to told me theirs – their own, their wife’s, their sister’s. So many people go through it and understand the breadth of pain, yet so few people talk about it.

Finally, I want to share a blog post that resonated with every part of me.
