Corey Simms, Miranda Patterson Welcome Baby Girl!

Corey Simms is a third-time father.

The Teen Mom 2 star, who was married for eight months to Leah Messer and who shares five-year old twins with his ex, welcomed a daughter into the world with his wife, Miranda Patterson, over the weekend.

This is Miranda’s first child.

Corey’s father, Jeff Simms, confirmed this exciting news via a picture of the newborn on Facebook post, writing along with it:

“Meet the newest member of our family, Remington Monroe Simms! I’m already wrapped around that tiny little finger.”

Corey Simms and Miranda Patterson revealed earlier this year that they were having a little girl and planned to name her Remi.

Simms has been fighting for custody of his twins (Aleeah and Aliannah) on and off the aforementioned MTV hit reality show.

If you watch Teen Mom 2 online, you know this played out for much of the past season, and didn’t get any better in the months since.

In October, a West Virginia judge awarded him primary custody of the toddlers, ruling that he would have the girls Monday-Friday.

Messer, whose parenting woes have become infamous, will still be allowed to take the twins on the weekends for the time being.

Corey has claimed in the past that his ex-wife has struggled with substance abuse issues, and that he fears for his kids’ safety.

(As for reports of Corey cheating on Miranda Patterson with Leah of all people, those appear to be true, but that’s another story.)

“It’s hard for me to get the truth out of Leah about a lot of stuff,” Corey told Dr. Drew Pinsky on the Teen Mom 2 reunion special.

“I would like to have my children in a stable home. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. I’ve been in my house going on four years.”

Adding that this is not about bitterness toward Leah, he says, “I’d like to show them what it’s like to be in a place, growing up, stable.”

We send him and Miranda the best.
