Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton: Is GWAKE Dunzo?

Like all good things, sometimes romances come to an end.

Life & Style‘s November 30th cover shows a big, fat “OVER ALREADY!” headline, notifying the masses that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are a couple no more.

“Gwen was feeling overwhelmed,” a source explained helpfully.  “She found all the attention surrounding her and Blake to be too much and regretted how soon they made their relationship public.”

On November 4th, Stefani’s rep confirmed that she and Shelton had started dating.  Photos of the new couple popped up everywhere thereafter, and “Gwake” got wrapped up in PDA on The Voice.

I’m normally entertained by tabloid stories, but I’ve always been a little suspicious of celebrity couples who release a statement confirming their courtship.  It’s very “Tom and Katie Cruise.”

Stefani didn’t even officially confirm her third pregnancy with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.  Instead, she showed up at an event wearing a fringed Fendi dress and let Rachel Zoe Instagram their matching baby bumps.

So for a rep to confirm any speculation is kind of out of character for Stefani (the divorce announcement is different, since I did not see that coming).

Stefani showed signs of annoyance recently when asked about being in a new relationship on San Diego’s 93.3 FM.

“I never said nothing about being in a new relationship,” Stefani said. “I don’t know who said that, but somebody did, and then my kid came in last night and told me about it.

“People can say whatever they want, and then they can just believe it.”

Get ready for Gwake Make Or Break, because there will be a lot of these stories in the foreseeable future.
