Talk of a Pretty Little Liars movie continues to garner momentum,
And for good reason: the show’s creator is the one driving said momentum!
“We’ve got some really big ideas for a great PLL movie, but that won’t happen right after the series ends,” Marlene King spilled on Good Morning America this week.
“I think we’ll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we’ll come back together again and do something really special.”
Pretty Little Liars is set to run through at least Season 7.
There’s been chatter, however, that cast members will not sign on beyond that, with Troian Bellisario recently telling E! News the ABC Family drama is “done” after seven seasons.
But perhaps only done on the small screen, according to King.
The series finally revealed the identity of uber villain A this summer (SPOILER ALERT: It’s Alison’s secret transgender sister!) and Pretty Little Liars Season 6 will officially return on February 12.
But ABC Family will air a special titled “Five Years Forward” on November 24.
It will bring viewers up to date on what the gals have been up to in the past five years, considering the show will jump that far ahead when it returns in 2016.
“It fills in the gaps,” King says of the special. “We’re giving fans a lot of information about what happened between the last time you saw the pretty little liars and when you’re going to see them in the future.”
