For several weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Jinger Duggar is courting.
As fans who watch Jill & Jessa: Counting On online are aware, courting is the Duggars’ version of dating.
It’s been described as “pre-marriage” or “dating with a purpose (other than casual sex), and the Duggars take it very, very seriously.
Thus far, the first courtship has resulted in marriage for all of the Duggar siblings except one (Josiah Duggar broke up with Marjorie Jackson last year.), so it’s a pretty big deal for the family when one of the kids decides to get their court on.
22-year-old Jinger is the latest to enter a pre-nuptial arrangement, but despite persistent rumors to the contrary, she’s not courting fellow reality star Lawson Bates.
The family put those false reports to rest moments ago when they issued a statement to People magazine confirming that Jinger is in a relationship with a 28-year-old professional soccer player named Jeremy Vuolo.
Jinger says she and Jeremy hit off when they went on a mission trip together back in May.
“It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character,” she tells the mag.
“I was initially friends with Ben Seewald and Jessa [(Duggar) Seewald], and it was through them that I got to meet Jinger,” Vuolo says.
“We are very excited to begin this journey together.”
Jeremy is currently a goalkeeper for the San Antonio Scorpions of the North American Soccer League.
That may not be as exciting as the (sadly untrue) rumors that Jana Duggar is courting Tim Tebow, but hey – Jinger landed herself a dude with a Wikipedia page!
No small feat, especially when said semi-famous dude has to be cool with limiting physical contact to side hugs and hand-holding.
In the off-season, Vuolo frequently works as a minister, which basically makes him the ideal Duggar dude.
