Josh Waring: New Details Emerge On Attempted Murder Charges

She’s done everything she could to try and steer her son on the right patch, but former Real Housewives of Orange County Lauri Peterson must have felt helpless after learning what he had done on June 20th.

Josh Waring shot a man in the torso early Monday morning, leaving him in serious condition (though authorities said he will survive).

After leading police on a chase through parts of Orange County (first in a stolen car, then on foot), Waring was finally caught and arrested.

Peterson’s cast mates were horrified by the news, and their first instinct was to support their friend.

I reached out to Lauri this morning when I heard the news, and let her know I am here for her if she needs anything,” Vicki Gunvalson told Radar  Online a day after the arrest was made.

“As a mother myself, I can’t imagine how difficult this is for her.”

Peterson (nee Waring) worked for Gunvalson’s company, Coto Insurance in season one.  On one episode, Peterson had to leave her job early because Waring had gotten into an altercation with a faculty member at his school.

From there, Waring’s behavior issues and addiction to drugs increased.  Peterson told the Orange County Register in 2008 that she found ecstasy and heroin in her son’s possession, so she called the police.

According to Radar, the shooting took place outside a sober living facility in Costa Mesa.

“Apparently there had been a previous confrontation between [Waring] and the occupants of that residence earlier, and he had returned,” Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Beckman said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

One neighbor told the Radar that  “At about 1:30 am my husband was still awake and heard people out in the street screaming and cussing.

Waring is being held on $ 1 million bail.  The charges against him also include vehicle theft, felony evading police, hit-and-run and assault and battery charges.

Peterson has not yet made a comment about the arrest.
