Rick Genest Commits Suicide; Lady Gaga Mourns Death of Music Video Co-Star
Rick Genest, a model best known to music fans for his appearance in Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video, was found dead in his Montreal home on Wednesday.
He was 32 years old.
According to local reports, the Canadian model took his own life, although no further details are available at this time.
In a message on Facebook, Genest’s management company said he “was loved by all those who had the chance to meet him and know him.”
Translated from French, this is what the message reads:
The whole dulcedo family is shocked and pained by this tragedy. Zombie boy, Rico, was loved by all those who had the chance to meet him and know him. Icon of the artistic scene and the fashion world, this innovator, against popular culture, has been able to charm all hearts.
We received the unfortunate news at the beginning of the afternoon and members of the team have come to support his family and relatives in this dark and difficult moment.
We want to present our deepest condolences and the legend will survive human.
Thank you zb for these beautiful moments in your company and for your radiant smile.
Lady Gaga, meanwhile, who has spoken out often about her own struggles with mental health and about the challenges others face in this area, also paid tribute to Genest on Instagram.
T”he suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating,” the artist wrote, adding:
“We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can’t talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today.
“We must save each other.”
The singer subsequently added two other messages along these same sad lines:

This fall, in partnership with @btwfoundation, I’ll explore the power of habits to build cultures of kindness and wellness.
SECOND:

Genest holds a Guinness World Record for the most insect tattoos on his body (a total of 176), as well as another record for the most human bone tattoos at 139.
Prior to his passing, Genest was involved with the Home Depot Canada Foundation, an organization that aims to bring awareness to youth homelessness.
Per iHeartRadio, Genest found work as a model after being featured in the Gaga’s aforementioned music video, modeling for magazines such as GQ, Vanity Fair, and Vogue Hommes.

Demi Lovato BFF Dani Vitale Begs Fans to Stop Sending Death Threats
In the aftermath of Demi Lovato’s overdose and hospitalization, her backup dancer and bff Dani Vitale received death threats from Demi’s own fans.
See, fans think that, because Demi was partying after celebrating Dani’s birthday, that Dani and other friends are somehow to blame for her relapse and overdose.
Dani has finally broken her silence and is imploring Demi’s fans to stop sending death threats to the ones who love Demi the most.
Demi Lovato’s guitarist thinks that Demi’s friends are to blame for her relapse and overdose. Dani Vitale says that no, they all love and care about Demi.
“I care about Demi just like all of you do,” Dani writes on Instagram.
It’s worth noting that she turned off comments on the post. We can only imagine the sort of vitriol that she might otherwise receive under her words.
“I have not said anything about this situation until now,” Dani acknowledges.
Just because you don’t write about it on social media doesn’t mean that you don’t care. Obviously.
Dani explains that her silence is “because her recovery has been of the most importance.”
“I was not with Demi when the incident happened,” Dani clarifies.
She shouldn’t have to defend herself, of course, but perhaps that explanation will put people’s minds at ease.
“I am with her now,” Dani writes. “And will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you.”
Danie emphasizes: “There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time.”
“There is too much of it in this world as it is,” she explains. She’s right about that.
Dani’s heart goes out to Demi’s fans, many of whom are young and have never dealt with such a sudden health crisis in a pop star.
“I know you’re all feeling lost without her at this moment in time,” Dani writes.
“Remember,” Dani implores them. “That you have always been a community of Lovatics who LOVE.”
Sometimes, a lot of people forget right and wrong when they’re looking at a screen instead of a person’s face.
Writing a message on social media is not the same as screaming into a void.
Dani asks: “Please remember that when you take out your phones and start typing.”
That’s good advice for anyone, not just for Lovatics.
“Remember that we all love her more than we can ever put into words,” Dani reminds the world.
“Please,” Dani concludes. “Continue to send her love during her recovery.”
Of course.
The sad truth of the matter is that there are cases in which friends are at least partly to blame for an overdose.
Factors like peer pressure aside, if someone provides the wrong dosage or the wrong drug, or if they simply fail to check on a person, that person has not been a good friend and may even bear some responsibility for an overdose.
When people who know very few of the facts of an overdose decide that they know exactly what happened, that’s a problem.
To make matters worse, well, they really should not be sending death threats. To anyone. They should not be bombarding Demi’s loved ones with hate now or at any other time.
And, again, Dani literally wasn’t even there for the overdose.

Dani Vitale: Demi Lovato"s BFF Receives Death Threats From Angry Fans
It’s been three days since Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life.
Friends, family, and fans of the singer are still reeling from the news, and unfortunately, some have chosen to lash out in destructive ways.
Earlier this week, Lovato’s guitarist, Mike Manning, blamed her friends for the overdose and threatened to “expose them” as addicts.
To be clear, it’s understandable to feel a confusing mix of emotions at a time like this, but unless it turns out those friends held her down and stuck a needle in her arm, it is 100 percent not okay to blame or shame Demi’s fellow users.
If this situation has taught us anything, it’s that addiction doesn’t discriminate, and the addict begging for change on the street deserves to be treated with the same dignity as a multi-platinum recording artist.
Manning hasn’t launched his horrendously ill-conceived campaign yet, but the misdirected outrage from fans who are desperate for someone to blame has already begun, and predictably, it’s made an awful situation considerably worse.
In the hours before her hospitalization, Demi was spotted doing shots at an LA bar.
Sources say she and several friends were celebrating the birthday of Dani Vitale, Demi’s longtime friend and backup dancer.
Little is known about what took place in the hours after the group left the bar, but since Demi was last seen celebrating Dani’s birthday, several foolish fans have decided to exacerbate whatever guilt of grief she might already be feeling by harassing Vitale online.
Insiders claim Vitale has been receiving non-stop hate messages and death threats.
This, despite the fact that she Dani is a teetotaler who has reportedly been a much-needed source of strength for Demi in the dark days following her overdose.
“Dani spent the whole day at the hospital with her,” a source close to Vitale told Radar. “Dani and Demi have known each other for a long time, and are very close.
“She’s very upset about it,” the insider added.
“She is very straight; she doesn’t do drugs.”
Despite the fact that Dani has apparently devoted herself to ensuring that Demi receives the best care and treatment possible, hundreds of fans (many of them tagging the vigilante Manning, of course) have spent their weeks hurling non-stop vitriol at Vitale.
“Fake friend…. f-ck you bitch is toxic,” one such psycho wrote today.
“I’m about to beat this bitch up,” reads another comment on Vitale’s Instagram page.
“Ima brake ur legs if i see you,” a third Demi obsessive commented.
Guys, we don’t know Demi personally, so we hate to speak on her behalf, but we’re pretty sure she’d agree that there are better ways to spend your time and express your concerns than issuing physical threats to her best friend.
Just sayin’.

Denis Ten, Olympic Bronze Medalist, Stabbed to Death
Denis Ten, a figure skater who won a Bronze Medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, died on Thursday after being stabbed during a dispute in Kazakhstan.
He was 25 years old.
According to BBC News, Ten died of the wounds he suffered after two men tried to steal car mirrors during a mugging.
It’s unclear at this time whether Ten fought back or just what precipated the fatal stabbing, but “he is not with us anymore,” a Kazakh government spokesman has said on record.
The Olympian was in his home city of Almaty when the tragedy occurred.
Canadian skater Patrick Chan, who won silver in the same competition four years ago, wrote on Twitter he was “honored and grateful to have shared the ice” with Ten, adding:
“One of the most beautiful skaters to have graced our sport. My thoughts are with his family during this unimaginable time.”
As news of this murder has spread around the Internet and the skating community, tributes have come flooding in from all areas of the globe.
This is what American figure skater Adam Rippon has said in the wake of the terrible news:
“My skating friend, @Tenis_Den, passed away today. He was so kind to everyone and a huge inspiration to me and so many other people. Murdered in the streets of Kazakhstan.
“Denis, thank you for showing us how to be a champion. Your time with us was way too short. Love you forever.”
The International Skating Union said it was “deeply saddened” by news of Ten’s death.
“Today is truly a dark day for all of us who knew and loved this young figure skater and were inspired by his talent and creativity,” Kazakhstan Olympic Committee president Timur Kulibayev said in a statement.
“Throughout his sporting career, Denis set an example with his motivation, strength of spirit and his champion’s personality.”
Ten also won the Four Continents championships in 2015 and was a world championship silver medalist in 2013.
However, he struggled with injuries in recent years and could manage only 27th at the Olympics in Pyeongchang in February.
He had hinted at retirement at various points since then, talking in public about his studies in economics and his plans to write a movie script.
“Completely devastated by the passing of Denis Ten,” Tweeted Johnny Weir, adding:
“He was as bright and kind as he was talented. This is such an incredible loss and tragedy. My heart is with his family and loved ones.”
“Denis Ten was an incredible figure skater, the legend of our sport, our pride,” said the minister of culture and sport of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, via BBC.
“This is an unthinkable tragedy and irreparable loss.”

Richard "Old Man" Harrison Cut Son Out of Will Before Death
If you’re a fan of the popular History Channel series Pawn Stars, then you probably know that the men of the Harrison family don’t always get along.
But while the on-camera conflicts are mostly good-natured, it seems there’s some serious bad blood behind the scenes.
Family patriarch and beloved Pawn Stars co-star Richard “Old Man” Harrison passed away last month at the age of 77.
Now, new information about Harrison’s will has prompted questions about his relationship with his children.
Harrison worked alongside his middle son, Rick Harrison, with whom he co-owned Gold & Silver Pawn Shop from 1989 until his death.
But it’s his relationship with youngest son Chris that’s making headlines this week.
For reasons that remain mysterious, Richard Sr. cut Chris out of his will entirely.
“I would like to express my love and affection for Christopher Keith Harrison,” reads the document obtained by Fox News.
“However, for purposes of this Will, I have intentionally and with full knowledge failed to provide for him and his issue.”
The Harrison family has declined to elaborate.
“The family had previously discussed this information and it is a private matter,” Rick Jr. said in a statement released today.
The younger Harrison previously paid tribute to his father in a moving eulogy:
“Richard Benjamin ‘The Old Man’ Harrison passed away this morning surrounded by those he loved. He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans the world over,” reads a press release issued by Rick Jr. at the time.
“He was my hero and I was fortunate to get a very cool ‘Old Man’ as my dad.
“That I got to share him with so many others and they got to see what a great family man he was is something I am grateful to have experienced with him.”
Harrison added:
“He lived a very full life and through the History television show Pawn Stars touched the lives of people all over teaching them the value of loving your family, hard work and humor.
“We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask that we are provided some privacy at this time.”

On America"s Got Talent last night, Mary and Tyce, a husband and wife trapeze team, initially caused the jaws of all the judges to drop as they performed gravity-defying tricks high above the stage… which was on fire throughout their act.
Yes, fire.
But then Mary dropped from the sky and a collective gasp went over the entire venue, with all in attendance fearing the worst.
Tyce, it should be noted, is legally blind in his right eye due to a progressive eye disease.
For the couple"s climactic big trick, he blindfolded himself as he hung upside down and prepared to catch his flipping wife.
But Mary slipped out of his hands and plummeted to the stage.
It was here, naturally, when the show went to commercial, leaving viewers in mortal suspense until it returned — to the look of horror on Mary"s mother"s face in the crowd as she held the couple"s two-year old in her arms.
Thankfully, Mary was okay (unbeknownst to fans until later, she and her husband had placed a thick mat across the ground), bounding up eventually with a triumphant look on her face.
And also some bruises on her head.
"We would like to try the trick one more time," Mary even said.
"No! It"s fine!" Mel B screamed immediately. "It"s fine."
Guest judge Ken Jeong then explained that, even though things didn"t go flawlessly, it was clear how skilled the artists really are.
"This is not America"s Got Perfection, it"s America"s Got Talent!" the actor said. "Nobody can do this. I mean, it"s OK!"
Added Simon Cowell, with everyone still trying to gather themselves after witnessing what had transpired in front of them:
"I don"t think there"s ever been a singer on any of our competitions who"s been note-perfect. It doesn"t make them not amazing, it makes them human…
"Although the consequences of this are slightly worse than falling off-key, whereas you nearly broke your neck. And the fact that you"re nearly blind makes this incredible."
It"s true. On both accounts.

Annabelle Neilson Cause of Death: Revealed
We have an update on the sad and unexpected death of Annabelle Neilson.
As previously reported, the former Ladies of London cast member was found dead last Thursday, with very few details available at the time this sad news broke.
Now, however, Westminster Coroner Court spokesperson Susan Lord has told Radar Online that the former model and British aristocrat died of a “cerebrovascular accident.”
In layman’s terms, this means Neilson passed away from a stroke.
Neilson’s body was discoverd in her London home around 10:20 p.m. on July 12.
Police never treated her death as suspicious, confirming at the outset of their announcement that no foul play was suspected.
The former Bravo personality was best known to television viewers for her role on Seasons 1 and 2 of the aforementioned program.
Neilson also worked as a model for years and was very close friends with fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who died by suicide at age 40 in February of 2015.
She said in the past, shortly after McQueen killed himself, that he once proposed and that she wished she had accepted.
“The truth is I was happier with Lee [Alexander McQueen] than with anyone else,” she told The Daily Mail in 2010, adding at the time:
“He asked me to marry him towards the end and I said no. I wish now that I had said yes.”
In more recent years, she worked as a children’s author, writing a series of books titled The Me Me Me’s, which were inspired by her struggles with dyslexia.
After being assaulted at the age of 16 in Perth, Australia, Neilson fell into a dark depression and started using drugs.
She talked candidly over the years about this period of her life as well.
Speaking to The Daily Mail in this same interview from 2015, she said:
“I fell into a serious depression and became a heroin addict because it provided an escape bubble and was the only way I could cope.
“In a way, heroin saved me, because otherwise I would have killed myself.”
In Neilson’s Bravo bio from her time on Ladies of London, she described herself as a “fixture in the international party circuit” and says she counted Richard Branson, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss as close pals.
“Kate is my best mate and I love her like a sister,” Neilson said back in the day.
“Yes, she’s an icon but to me she’s just Kate. We fight over stupid things, then we kiss and make up. We share clothes, we share everything and her fame has never been an issue.”

Ladies of London co-star Caroline Fleming remembered Annabelle on Monday night after news of her death went viral.
“My sweet Tinky, no words can express how devastated I feel at loosing you. Sweet delicate soul, you will be sorely missed,” Fleming said in an Instagram post, concluding:
“It’s impossible to comprehend that you are no longer here – we spoke on Wednesday and we planned lunch together next week and instead it’s the day of your funeral.
“I loved you from the moment I met you, such a special friendship you and I shared which I am so grateful for.”
Neilson was married to banker Nathaniel Rothschild from 1994 to 1997 and is survived by her parents, Max and Elizabeth, and her sister, Millie.

Selena Gomez: Literally Drinking Herself to Death?!?
According to a bombshell new report and analysis, Selena Gomez is burying her Justin Bieber-related sorrow in alcohol these days.
And it may literally kill her.
Bieber, of course, stunned the free world over the weekend when he proposed to Hailey Baldwin.
The singer popped this major question to the model on Saturday Night in Las Vegas, despite only having dated her for a few months in 2016 and then again for a month or so this summer.
No matter, though, Bieber and Baldwin are engaged and fans around the globe are trying to come to grips with this reality.
They’re also wondering about Gomez.
How is she responding to this development with her (many times over) ex-boyfriend?
Is she truly angry, as one source claimed on Monday?
Or does she not care one bit, as another source claimed, because she grew sick and tired of Bieber’s lies and manipulations a long time ago, long before this news broke?
Hollywood Life wrote earlier in the week that Gomez was spotted at a bar in the Four Seasons hotel in New York City, throwing back shots.
So what, you’re probably asking.
She’s 25 years old and this wouldn’t be an abnormal reaction for anyone to have after a serious former lover gets engaged.
But here’s the thing: Selena Gomez has Lupus. It grew so serious last year that she had to get a kidney transplant.
As a result, alcohol can have an effect on the artist that it would not have on someone who does NOT have Lupus.
What kind of effect? A dangerous one.
Radar Online interviewed a rheumatologist named Dr. Robert Fafalak who spoke freely, for some reason, about someone he has never met and who he has never treated.
He risked his professional reputation to explain to this celebrity gossip site just what trouble Selena could be in if she continues this alleged habit.
“The fact that she’s taking what sounds like a very high amount of alcohol can definitely become threatening to not only making her lupus worse but therefore potentially threatening her life,” Fafalak said.
Good friend Francia Raisa donated a kidney to Gomez last year; that’s how severe a case of Lupus Gomez suffers from.
The condition makes her extra tired at times and has resulted in her need to take a break from touring and sometimes from the music business in general.
“Selena is playing with fire now and if she is, in fact, drinking again she will need to get help quick before it spirals out of control and kills her,” an insider tells Radar.
Fans have also been concerned about Selena’s mental state.
She entered rehab in the past for depression and anxiety and no one would blame her here if she relapsed in some way, shape or form.
But Bieber isn’t worth all that.
All we can really hope now is that Gomez realizes this and also realizes that alcohol never cures any problem; often times, in fact, it makes things worse.

Jax Taylor Goes OFF on Fan: You Wished Death on MY DOG?!
Jax Taylor isn’t exactly a favorite amongst Vanderpump Rules fans.
Taylor takes a lot of flak for his behavior on the show, and rightfully so — he’s pretty much effed up in every imaginable way over the course of the show’s six seasons.
After so many years of watching Jax cheat on Brittany Cartwright, stab his friends in the back, get way too close to his reiki therapist, and mix some of the worst cocktails in the West Hollywood area, it’s understandable that some folks might wish to give Jax a hard time on Twitter.
But while ragging on reality TV ne’er-do-wells is generally a pretty harmless way to pass the time on social media, viewers frequently go too far and wind up engaging in full-blown bullying.
Last week, Jax posted a photo (below) of himself and his two dogs.
In the caption he encouraged fans to sign a petition as part of an effort to outlaw the annual Lychee and Dog Meat Festival which is currently taking place in Yulin, China
As the name indicates, the festival is centered around the consumption of dog meat, and bringing an end to it has long been a passion project for Jax’s boss, Lisa Vanderpump.
“Everyone please take some time to go to @vanderpumpdogs and sign the petition against the Yulin dog meat festival,” Taylor wrote.
“Today the festival started up again even though many dogs are being saved many are still being sold and tortured. It’s extremely sad we can not let this continue. Please do what you can for our furry little friends. Hug your pets and have a blessed day.
Yes, contempt for Taylor is at such a high these days that even a post discouraging the consumption of dog meat elicits disdainful comments.
And this time, several users crossed the line in appalling fashion:
“I hope your dog gets hit by a car,” wrote one commenter.
Needless to say, Jax didn’t take too kindly to that remark:
“If you don’t like me on TV, that’s fine, I don’t care, but threatening harm or hate on other people or animals that don’t have a voice will not be accepted,” he replied.
“If you have the balls to cyberbully, threaten people or animals, I will blast you,” Taylor continued.
“This is your warning. That girl can not get away with stuff like this and it can’t be ignored or it will continue, the only way this will stop is if you report these awful human beings.”
Most fans who commented came to Jax’s defense, but astonishingly, there were others who sided with the original trash-talker.
“F-ck u and your dogs too,” wrote one follower.
“I hope they hit too and die a slow death.”
The hate mostly had to do with Jax’s behavior on the most recent season of Vanderpump, but some users took issue with the message of his post.
Many apparently felt that since Jax eats meat, it’s hypocritical of him to condemn others for eating dog meat.
We understand the argument, but the argument that you’re wishing death on someone’s dog because of your love for animals is a bit shaky.
Plus, Jax’s dad just died, so how about we all just agree to behave a bit more civilly toward him for the time being, mmm-kay?

Joe Jackson: Hospitalized with Cancer, On Verge of Death
Joe Jackson has been hospitalized with terminal cancer.
And, according to multiple outlets, the father of Michael and Janet Jackson will almost certainly never go home again.
Those close to the Jackson patriarch tell TMZ that loved ones are rushing to Jackson’s side, hoping to say goodbye to the controversial figure prior to his passing.
Joe’s wife, Katherine, is reportedly at the hospital and she has been joined there so far by a handful of kids and grandkids.
“Joe is going to die any day,” an insider says simply to Radar Online, adding of his wife:“Katherine doesn’t think he will live until Monday.”
This same source says Joe’s relatives “are already planning his funeral,” saying that Joe has made his wishes well known:
“Joe wants to be buried next to Michael. So he’ll be laid to rest in the mausoleum, and so will Katherine.
“The Jacksons have already bought multiple plots at Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, have spoken to police and arranged car services.”
Joe’s health has been in decline now for a number of years, as he suffered a stroke in 2015 and has also been diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer.
“He’s very very frail, he doesn’t have long,” Jermaine Jackson told The Daily Mail this morning. “The family needs to be by his bedside – that’s our only intention in his final days.”
Jackson, of course, is the father of the late Michael Jackson, as well as singer Janet Jackson and nine other kids.
This means he’s also the grandfather of Paris Jackson, the most prominent of Michael’s kids.
Joe was the manager of The Jackson 5 way back in the day, overseeing the group that made Michael into an icon via a rather heavy and scandal-filled hand.
He’s been accused on many occasions of abuse, infidelity and of fathering kids out of wedlock.
Specifically, Michael Jackson went on record before his own death of how Joe would force him to rehearse around the clock and how he was the victim of whippings and other forms of physical and emotional abuse.
Michael did also say that such strict parenting/managing contributed to his eventual success as an artist.
At this point, Joe is estranged from many of his sons and daughters.
A source close to Janet Jackson, for example, says that the star has been denied access to her father.
Joe’s daughter Joh’Vonnie Jackson, his sole child not with Katherine, has also reportedly not been allowed to see her father, despite their close relationship.
Joe does not want to be viewed in his current state, according to these reports.
His handlers have nee feuding with his family members over just who and who is not allowed inside Joe’s hospital room.
Jermaine confirms this account, saying that full access was really just granted on Thursday evening.
“No one knew what was going on – we shouldn’t have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this,” he told the aforementioned British newspaper, adding:
“We have been hurting. We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick.
“It’s what any family would want, but some people around him think they know better…and they don’t.”
Joe Jackson is 89 years old.
