As expected, last night’s season premiere of Counting On gave Duggar fans their first real look at the relationship between Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo.
Those who follow the family closely know that Jinger and Jeremy got engaged last month, and the couple has already revealed a great deal about how they met.
We know that Jinge and Jer were introduced by Jinger’s sister Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald.
We know that they hit it off during a missionary trip.
But until last night, we didn’t know the extent to which Jinger is head over heels for her husband to be.
Fans were introduced to Vuolo in memorable fashion with Jinger acting as a living Wikipedia page:
“Jeremy’s background is really neat,” she tells viewers.
“He gave up professional soccer to become a pastor.”
(Given that Vuolo was released by his last team mid-season, there’s been some debate as to whether or not he actually left soccer by choice, but we won’t get into that now.)
Ben and Jessa take over the narrative and fill in the gaps regarding Vuolo’s journey from professional athlete to star in the ever-expanding Duggar galaxy.
After sitting down for muffins with her father to ask permission to commence the courtin’, Vuolo returned to Jinger and said the words she’d clearly been waiting to hear.
“I wanted you to know, instead of just letting you know … you know,” Vuolo began. “I love you.”
Jinger reciprocated the sentiment, and like that Jinger and Jeremy were courting.
In Duggar fashion, the new couple sealed the deal with a side hug.
“It’s been a journey, but it’s just starting,” Jinger remarked.
Asked what qualities she likes in Vuolo, Jinger replied, “How long do you have?”
We’d say it’s a journey that she’s more than happy to begin.
And hey, her siblings say she never loses her phone anymore! Bonus!
