Ariana Grande Concert Victims Identified. One Was 8 Years Old.
We have a tragic update on the Ariana Grande concert bombing from Monday night.
As previously reported in detail, a suicide bomber detonated what authorities are referring to as a “nail bomb” around 10:30 p.m., shortly after the young singer completed her set and bid farewell to her fans.
The explosion is believed to have been set off in the concession area of the Manchester Arena, prompting mass chaos and confusion, with thousands of attendees rushing toward the nearest exit.
The bomber killed himself in the blast, but a 23-year old has been arrested in connection with the incident and ISIS has taken responsibility for carrying it out.
A total of 22 people died in the terrorist act, while 59 others were injured.
And reports have now identified two of the victims.
One was named Georgina Callander.
She was a student at Runshaw College in Leyland and previously attended Bishop Rawstorne Church of England Academy.
In the wake of her identification, Bishop Rawstorne released a statement mourning the 18-year old.
It reads as follows:
Georgina was a lovely young student who was very popular with her peers and the staff and always made the most of the opportunities she had at the school.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Georgina’s family at this terrible time, and we think especially of her brothers Harry and Daniel who are also former students of the school.
The Evening Standard reports Callander passed away with her mother at her bedside in hospital.
Callander had actually met Grande two years ago and Tweeted ahead of Monday’s show that she was so excited to see the artist in person once again.

Another victim in the attack has been identified as 8-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos.
She was attending the concert with her older sister and mother, both of whom are both being treated at hospitals for injuries they sustained during the explosion
Chris Upton, headteacher at the Tarleton Community Primary School, tells People Magazine that Saffie’s death “has come as a tremendous shock.

The thought that anyone could go out to a concert and not come home is heartbreaking.
Saffie was simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word. She was loved by everyone and her warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly.
Saffie was quiet and unassuming with a creative flair.

Following police confirmation of the 22 deaths and approximately 59 injuries sustained, Grande Tweeted a simple message:
She didn’t know what to say except for: “Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don’t have words.”
Chief Constable Ian Hopkins has said there was just one attacker, but he clearly had ties to ISIS.
“The attacker, I can confirm, died at the arena. We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device, which he detonated, causing this atrocity,” Hopkins said, adding:
“We have been treating this as a terrorist incident and we believe, at this stage, the attack last night was conducted by one man.
“The priority is to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network.”

Taylor Swift Finalizes $1 Million Donation to Flood Victims
To many critics, Taylor Swift is a phony.
But there’s nothing phony about the impressive financial pledge this singer just made, as she donated $ 1 million to a handful of causes that will help victims of the recent flooding in Louisiana.
Pretty impressive, right?
And yet people take issue with Swift because of how she acts at awards shows? Please.
Swift first made her donation pledge in August.
Two months later, she has divided up her money to Convoy of Hope, The Life of a Single Mom and YWCA Greater Baton Rouge.
The artist has also gifted $ 100,000 to Habitat for Humanity, which hopes to rebuild 100 homes in Baton Rouge by the end of 2017, while giving $ 50,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank in August.
This, of course, is not nearly the first time Swift has made such a heartfelt monetary move.
She donated $ 50,000 to New York City schools in February of last year.
Just a few months later, she gave $ 50,000 to a fan with cancer.
On a nearly annual basis, Swift is named the most charitable celebrity on the planet.
And yet people take issue with her because they think she sometimes acts too innocent and naive? Please.
“The generous donation from Taylor Swift could not have come at a better time for our organization,” reads a post on YWCA Greater Baton Rouge’s website.
“These funds will be put to great use as we continue working to restore our Early Head Start facility that was damaged during the historic flooding last month, and continue our critical work of providing access to high quality early childhood services…
Thank you, Taylor Swift, and to all those at the Taylor Swift Foundation, for your kindness and generosity in these challenging times.”
The Life of a Single Mom has released a similar statement.
It reads as follows:
“Our hearts are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for single moms. We are grateful to Taylor Swift for reaching out to help us ensure that no single mom walks alone during this very difficult time. The devastation across southeast Louisiana has been unbelievable.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to serve more single moms with this gift.”
Swift this summer that she would be donating $ 1 million to Louisiana flood relief, remembering at the time how kind her fans were when she visited the state during her 1989 World Tour.
“We began the 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home,” she said.
“The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.”
It really is.
This somehow feels a tad more important than whatever feud has been going on between Swift and Kim Kardashian.
Instead of celebrating the fact that Taylor Swift is over (below), maybe people ought to celebrate the fact that Taylor Swift exists.
Few stars give back more than she does.
Few rose to success at such a young age and managed to navigate the crazy world of Hollywood without stepping into any major scandals.
Was Swift a bit petty in slamming Katy Perry in such a public manner? Sure, it’s fine for you to think that.
But if you step back and take a look at the bigger picture, we think you’ll have trouble finding any real faults with Taylor Swift.
On the contrary, we think you’ll see someone as generous as it gets with her time and her money.

Donald Trump: Lisa Rinna, Marlee Matlin Latest Sexual Harassment Victims?!
Donald Trump could be in more serious hot water with the latest, gross-out allegations that he’s a lecherous slime ball, and yes — the same Donald Trump who has no respect for women.
People reports that a former “Apprentice” cast member, Richard Hatch, said that that Trump’s motives were clear from the get-go to anyone who happened to be in his unfortunate path, and that even high-profile celebrities weren’t off the menu.
Hatch said, “Watching him in the boardroom making sexual comments to Marlee Matlin, to all of the women on The Apprentice, it was obvious that that’s just a part of who he is.”
Probably the best part, sadly, since everything else about him is approximately a million times even worse, not that it even seems possible.
Hatch continued, “It was obvious and grotesque. It was blatant and it was frequent,” even naming Lisa Rinna as one of Trump’s many victims.
“He did it with whomever happened to be there at that time,” which also shows that Trump has zero discerning skills whatsoever.
It only got worse from there — because of course it did; where else could it go besides down?
The report continued, “He went back and forth with Marlee. No matter how she responded, he would push it a step further with comments about her looks, and about what he thought of her, and how happy he would be to do something sexual with her.”
Grossed out yet? You just wait.
“It was a lot of innuendo,” Hatch claimed. “Far beyond the norm,” he continued, as if there’s supposed to be a norm with sexual harassment — which is exactly what this perversion is.
If you weren’t in the know, Marlee Matlin is deaf, so yes. Donald Trump sexually harassed a deaf woman — through her interpreter.
It can be done, apparently.
“[Matlin] was with her interpreter,” the mole revealed, “and I thought, ‘Gosh, I wonder if he’s comfortable with this.’ ”
The only people comfortable with something of that nature would be Donald Trump himself … and this is precisely why the world needs to know just what he’s like behind closed doors.
You thought Bill Clinton was bad? Imagine Trump in office — it’d be a sh-tstorm of obnoxious, and other bodily functions on a daily basis.
Trump’s camp denied the rumors — because of course they did — decrying Richard Hatch’s credibility entirely.
“Marlee Matlin is such a nice person,” the statement read, “and Mr. Trump has great respect for her, but this report is completely false.”
“Just take a look at Richard Hatch’s record, or lack thereof,” the rep asserted.
Hatch spent time in jail in the early ’00s for not paying his taxes.
Oops? Yeah, “oops” just about sums up this entire thing, including the presidential bid.

Britney Spears Helps Raise Money for Louisiana Flood Victims
Britney Spears is working her magic to help do some good for her home state of Louisiana.
The 34-year-old singing sensation is helping to raise funds for the victims of the massive floods that have devastated the state.
Britney is using her upcoming performance at the MTV Video Music Awards as a way to to raise money.
One of the prizes up for grabs is two roundtrip tickets to New York and two tickets to the award show.
The award show airs on Sunday August 28, 2016.
Spears will also be giving the lucky winner the chance to meet her before the show kicks off in Madison Square Garden.
If you don’t win that prize, you could be in with a chance of winning the outfit Spears wears to the awards show, as well as an autographed copy of her latest album.
Those are pretty great perks and the money is all going to a great cause.
Britney took to Facebook to help promote the campaign.
Every $ 10 counts as an entry to win one of the prizes.
It’s great when stars use their influence to help in instances like this.

Taylor Swift Donates $1 Million to Louisiana Flooding Victims
She may have just endured a rough few weeks from a PR standpoint, but today, Taylor Swift reminded us yet again that when it comes to using her fame and fortune to affect positive change in the world, she truly has no rival.
With all the daily drama coming out of Rio and the mouth of a certain cotton candy-haired real estate mogul, the current situation in Louisiana hasn’t been receiving its rightful place at the top of every news broadcast, but it’s almost unimaginably horrific.
At least 11 have been killed and thousands have lost their homes in flooding of historic proportions.
Yesterday, Swift cut a check for $ 1 million to the state’s disaster relief fund.
Today, the singer issued the following statement to fans via social media:
“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.
“I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
Fans of Swift’s know that the mega-wealthy star (with an estimated worth of $ 250 million) has a long history of helping those in need.
Last year, Taylor donated $ 50,000 to New York City public schools.
Shortly thereafter, she gave another $ 50,000 to a cancer stricken fan.
Perhaps even more meaningful than her financial contributions, however, are the ways in which the hard-working singer takes time for her fans who are going through difficult times.
Taylor has visited children’s hospitals to hang out and sing for terminally ill kids on multiple occasions, and her open letters to fans who have suffered losses or been victims of bullying have discovered millions.
So even if you’re staunchly Team Katy or Calvin, you can take a moment to set aside petty celebrity feuds and acknowledge that regardless of her bad blood with other famous folks, Taylor has unquestionably used her position to do some good in the world.

Kardashians Meet with Gun Violence Victims, Don"t Suck for Once
We hate to admit this, but…
… the Kardashian might not be entirely terrible.
They are mostly terrible, don’t get us wrong.
They mislead young fans into thinking that waist training is actually an effective thing… they think that posing naked on social media is a lot of work… and they brought Tyga into our lives.
But still. Consider the following:
On Friday, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian – along with Kris and Kendall Jenner – attended a private lunch with men and women who have lost relatives due to gun violence.
The event was organized by Moms Demand Action and Everytown.
Both are organizations that push for various gun control measures to be passed in Congress.
“Having lunch with the families of loved ones who were killed by gun violence. I learned a lot from listening to their stories,” Kim wrote as a caption to the above image.
She added:
“Life is so precious! What will it take for this to stop? #NotOneMore #Everytown #MomsDemand.”
Gun control appears to be one real issue that Kim takes seriously.
After the massacre inside an Orlando nightclub that killed 49 patrons in June, Kim Tweeted:
“Under current federal law people on terror watch lists can legally buy guns – this is called the Terror Gap,” Kim tweeted yesterday.
“We have repeatedly called on Congress to close this loophole that makes it easy for dangerous people to get guns & kill.
“Nothing has changed!!!! People continue to senselessly die. When will these gun laws be changed?!?!?!?!!!!?????”
Those who watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online will see footage from this luncheon on a future episode, so of course the family used the occasion as a fodder for their TV show.
But whatever.
If they made any difference at all in helping to get some common sense gun control laws passed in this country, we can’t say anything negative about them at this time.
Erica Smegielski, whose mother was killed in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, also shared a picture she took with Kendall and Kourtney on Twitter, writing along with it:
“Awesome to hang with these gun sense champs.”
Also, Khloe posted the following on Instagram:
“Was able to spend the afternoon with the families of victims of gun violence. Today was so very moving and impactful.
“I learned so much and i’m so grateful to everyone who was brave enough to share their very traumatic stories.”
In late June, Kim Kardashian went on a rant against the government after four new gun control measures failed to get passed.
“So terrorists on fbi’s wanted lists can legally still buy guns. Oh & mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check too,” she wrote, adding:
“The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!”
Again, we shudder to write it, but…
She makes some good points.
We’re sort of frightened here. We’re not sure how to react to this.
