Kim Richards must have some damn good lawyers.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star managed to avoid jail time for failing to comply with the terms of her probation stemming from an August 2015 shoplifting arrest, when she stole $ 600 worth of products at a Van Nuys Target.
According to TMZ, Richards was supposed to complete 30 hours of community service and attends 52 AA meetings, neither of which she did.
Fortunately, Richards’ lawyers showed the judge proof that she had “belatedly” met her 30 hours, and she is nearly caught up on AA meetings, so the judge gave her a pass.
Richards is still on probation, and is required to have everything completed by November, when her next hearing takes place.
“At the moment, she seems to be doing OK. She goes to AA [meetings],” a source told E! News.
“She’s trying to get some projects off the ground. There are three or four in the works.”
Richards will soon be a first-time grandmother. Her daughter, Brooke Wiederhorn is expecting a boy with husband, Thayer.
Wiederhorn is Richards’ child with Monty Brinson, who passed away last January from lung cancer.
“Kim is very much looking forward to becoming a grandmother- it’s a very exciting time. Brooke is about 3 months along,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“Monty (her father) was able to hear the news before his passing. It’s definitely bittersweet, but the family is doing really well.”
Richards, along with friends and family, celebrated the impending addition with a baby shower on August 4th.
“My Radiant Girl,” Richards wrote on an Instagram post.
“Brookie , what an honor & blessing it is being your mommy.
“You bring me so much joy everyday! I can’t wait for understand this kind love … Won’t be long now ..I love you more than words can say!!”
