Michelle Duggar Slammed By Fans: What Does She Do All Day?!

It may seem absurd to question how a mother of 19 keeps herself busy all day.

But many fans of the Duggar family are doing exactly that these days, as matriarch Michelle Duggar doesn"t appear to have a whole to keep her occupied.

If you watch Counting On online, you know that Michelle seems to spend the bulk of her time teasing her hair and speaking very softly, so as not rile up the menfolk.

But there must be more to her day, right?

In Touch Weekly and various Duggar critics have been asking that very question a lot lately, and here"s a rundown of the conclusions they"ve drawn based on what we know about Jim Bob"s doting servant:

1. Michelle, Jim Bob’s Belle

Michelle and Jim Bob met and married in 1984. Even then, Duggar couples didn’t waste any time when it came to the business of getting hitched.

2. Mother Duggar

These days, it’s impossible to picture Michelle without an army of children. But believe it or not, she and Jim Bob held off on having kids when they first got hitched.

3. Michelle on Birth Control: Not a Fan

In fact, Michelle was on birth control in the early days of her marriage. Obviously, she didn’t stay with it for very long, and these days, she’s staunchly opposed to all forms of contraception.

4. Filling Up the Quiver

These days, the Duggars are adherents of the Quiverfull movement, which holds that it’s the duty of Christian women to have as many children as humanly possible.

5. Don’t Stop the Breedin’

Michelle’s baby-making days spanned an astonishing three decades. We would say that’s impressive, but the first of those kids was Josh, so…

6. The Buddy System

So how does Michelle handle the responsibility of raising 19 kids? Well, the older kids are each assigned a younger kid to look after in what the Duggars call “the buddy system.”

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar: SLAMMED For Offering Marriage Advice on Facebook!

There are many words that are commonly associated with the Duggars on social media.

“Courtship,” “side-hug,” and “Quiverfull” are among the unusual terms that are strangely familiar to Counting On fans.

But there’s one word that might be used more often than any other in describing Jim Bob, Michelle, and their massive brood–“hypocritical.”

Yes, ever since news of the Josh Duggar sex scandals went public, the family has been accused of rampant hypocrisy on a seemingly daily basis.

And the evidence that the Duggars don’t quite practice what they preach just keeps piling up.

Obviously, their tolerance for Josh’s child molestation and marital infidelity is the most damning incident, but the Duggars have proven on countless occasions that they have no qualms about saying one thing in public and doing the exact opposite in private.

Whether it’s Jim Bob hoarding while espousing the virtues of Christian charity, or Michelle encouraging abusive parenting techniques while preaching love and compassion, the Duggars see utterly unashamed of the many inconsistencies in their belief system.

Of course, their greatest hypocrisy will always be evident in their interactions with Josh, and fans are always quick to call them out on it:

Michelle and Jim Bob posted the above photo on Facebook yesterday with a caption reading:

“Treasure your spouse! Godly husbands and wives are blessings from the Lord!

“Remember to tell them that you love them, that you are thankful for them, and that you will always have their back. It’s the little things that speak volumes!!”

Naturally, many of the family’s Facebook followers were quick to point out the irony of Duggars offering marital advice:

“Was Josh treasuring Anna when he was on Ashley Madison? The only thing worth treasuring here is your hypocrisy,” wrote one commenter.

“You support the serial adulterer, thrice married sexual predator,” remarked another.

“You no longer get to decide what ‘godly’ means and you sure as hell don’t represent god. Have several seats, hypocrites.”

The Josh-related criticism has been louder than usual in recent weeks thanks to the Duggars’ efforts to reintroduce Josh to their fans.

Insiders have even speculated that Josh might return to TV during the current season of his family’s reality show.

It’s difficult to imagine the Duggars being so brazen, but all signs seem to point in that direction.

Josh has been appearing on his parents’ social media pages more than ever lately, and many fans believe it’s part of a slow acclimation process.

Hopefully, Jim Bob and Michelle will take incidents like this as a reminder that Josh will never be welcomed by the public.

But knowing them, they’ll probably keep right on forcing the issue.

Michelle Rounds: Cause of Death Revealed Following Autopsy?

The autopsy for Michelle Rounds, the ex-wife of Rosie O’Donnell, has been completed, according to multiple media reports.

What have we learned about her tragic passing?

A spokesperson for the Orange County (Fla.) Medical Examiner’s office tells ET that the cause of the 46-year-old’s passing is pending.

“At this point, the doctor has pended the case,” the spokesperson explained of Michelle Rounds’ death Friday of last week.

“There was no trauma to the body, but the doctor wanted to [conduct] further laboratory tests before she made a decision.”

“Talking about any case, we do toxicology testing on almost every decedent that comes through our office,” the spokesperson added.

The ME’s office said this isn’t cause for suspicion, but “one of those things that when the doctor pends it usually means they are looking at.”

“Was it natural causes, or was it an accidental death or a suicide depending on the results of the testing.”

Rounds died unexpectedly at home last week.

“I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy,” O’Donnell said. “Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families.”

A shocked Rosie added in her statement, “my thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife Krista, and their child.”

The former spouses, who broke up in 2014 after a tumultuous relationship, share a four-year-old daughter together, Dakota.

Michelle was open about her battle with mental illness, and while her cause of death is pending, it likely proved fatal in some way.

After meeting at an industry event in 2011, she married O’Donnell the following year, beginning an incredibly turbulent marriage.

That isn’t to say there weren’t bright spots O’Donnell and Rounds’ daughter was born in 2013, which she called the best part of her life.

Sadly, the couple split in 2015 after months of serious fighting; Rounds attempted suicide soon after by overdosing on prescription painkillers.

With the passage of time, O’Donnell and Rounds reportedly worked out an amicable co-parenting relationship after their divorce.

While Rounds moved on to a new and relationship free of drama and tabloid scrutiny, it seems she was never able to escape her demons.

Michelle’s mother also released a statement last week that seems to have implicitly verified that Rounds had taken her own life:

“If anyone would like to give to the National Suicide Prevention it would also be greatly appreciated,” wrote Michelle’s mother.

“There are so many out there in this world that have demons that they think suicide is the only way out,” Rounds’ mother added.

In a bit of tragic irony, her death comes during Suicide Prevention Month, and on the heels of other notable celebrity suicides.

The steadily-worsening epidemic, and least in celebrity circles, dates back to Robin Williams’ unexpected passing in 2014.

Recent victims such as rock greats Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington have brought renewed attention to the issue.

Logan Brown and Michelle Petty: Eldest Sister Wives Son Engaged to Long-Time Girlfriend!

Logan Brown, the eldest son of the Sister Wives family, has been in a relationship with Michelle Petty for years 

Now those two are taking things to the next level with a long-anticipated engagement!

Sister Wives is controversial for good reason.

Now, relationships involving multiple consenting partners isn’t a good reason for controversy.

Male-centered relationships where it’s just one man with multiple wives who have only one husband … that’s a little different.

And Kody Brown comes across as a creep.

Sister Wives from the outset was supposed to help normalize polygamy in the eyes of viewers.

There’s a decent change that it’s backfired, and the dislike that many viewers feel for Kody Brown may have reflected poorly upon people in healthy polyamorous relationships.

But nobody dislikes the kids on Sister Wives.

They didn’t sign up for any part of that. They were just born. And they’re good kids.

Which is why everyone is so excited that Logan and Michelle are taking this next step.

Logan took to Instagram to share this wonderful news.

“I did a thing…the best thing I have ever done. #engaged.”

Michelle tweeted out this photo with an engagement ring emoji and the words:

“Promoting him to fiance!”

That’s such wonderful news!

Fans and viewers don’t have to follow Logan or Michelle on social media to be familiar with Michelle or the two of them as a couple.

Michelle has appeared on Sister Wives many times.

Fans are familiar with her and with their relationship.

Those who follow either of them on Instagram and Twitter know them even better.

(Also, can we just say that Logan is way more buff than most people would assume!)

Unlike some relationships that crop up involving the children of non-traditional reality show families, Logan doesn’t seem to just be jumping into an engagement before he’s ready.

(Looking at you, Duggars)

Logan and Michelle have been dating for about three years.

They’ve discussed the idea of an engagement in the past, but had previously stated that they were going to wait until they had both finished with college, at least.

Well, guess what — Logan finished his bachelor’s degree in May of this year, and Michelle had already wrapped up her college education.

So it was time.

Logan Brown told TLC about his engagement.

And apparently his initial plans for the proposal had a few hiccups.

“Unfortunately nothing in my elaborate plan had successfully gone through.”

That is so often how things work out.

“So in desperation I found the prettiest view of the Colorado River, Congress Bridge. We walked out to the middle of the bridge and then I popped the question!”

Logan’s mother, Janelle Brown, tweeted her approval after Logan and Michelle made their engagement public.

“We are thrilled!”

We should note — because surely some people are wondering — that Logan does not plan to practice polygamy as his parents do.

In fact, all of the Brown family’s adult children are in agreement on that.

Michelle Rounds Dead of Apparent Suicide; Ex Wife of Rosie O"Donnell Was 46

Michelle Rounds, the ex-wife of media personality Rosie O’Donnell, has passed away at the age of 46.

Though no official cause of death has been announced, TMZ is reporting that Rounds appears to have taken her own life.

Rounds had been open about her struggles with mental illness over the years, and tragically, it seems the battle proved fatal.

After meeting at an industry event in 2011, Rounds and O’Donnell got married the following year. 

Their time together was turbulent, marred by frequent fighting and Rounds’ persistent health issues.

But there were bright spots, as well.

O’Donnell and Rounds welcomed a daughter together in 2013, and Michelle described the months that followed as the happiest in her life.

Sadly, it was a period that wouldn’t last.

Rounds and O’Donnell separated in 2015 after months of intense fighting.

Just months later Rounds attempted suicide by overdosing on prescription painkillers.

She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors were able to save her life.

Though Rounds moved on to a new and reportedly far less tumultuous relationship, it seems she was never able to escape her demons.

After was said to be a period of emotional stability, Rounds reportedly experienced a recurrence of symptoms in recent weeks.

O’Donnell issued a statement on her former wife’s death just moments ago:

“I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy,” O’Donnell wrote.

“Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife and their child.”

They though often fought bitterly during their marriage, O’Donnell and Rounds reportedly worked out an amicable co-parenting relationship after their divorce.

Josh & Jim Bob Duggar Pay Awkward Tribute to Michelle Duggar On Her Birthday

Michelle Duggar turned 51 this week, and as in years past, the Duggar children fought to outdo one another in paying public tribute to their beloved mother.

Hey, we guess the upside of having 19 kids is that birthdays and Mother’s Day are full-blown gift bonanzas.

Anyway, Michelle’s birthday is always a big deal in Duggarville for obvious reasons.

Not only did she bring a small army into the world, but at this point, Michelle is basically the most scandal-free adult in the Duggar clan these days.

As we said, the Duggars went all out in their contest to prove who loves Michelle the most, and fans believe a clear winner has emerged.

But first, the runners-up:

If you know anything about them, you’re probably aware that the Duggars have very strict rules about sex (read: Unless it results in a baby, they pretty much think it’s the devil’s business).

And what does that have to do with Michelle’s birthday?

Well, husband Jim Bob decided to mark the occasion by showing the world that he and Michelle totally still do the sex:

At this point, Michelle was probably just praying for her birthday to come to an end.

Fortunately, Jessa Duggar came through with a blog post that received heaps of praise from fans of the family:

“You let us make forts in the living room using couch cushions, sheets, and dining chairs. We saw you take joy in our childlike joy and laughter, and we saw Jesus in you,” she wrote.

“I remember the smell of the perfume you wore when I was little, and it is still one of my favorites to this day because it reminds me of you,” Jessa continued.

“We girls always felt so grown up when you would let us wear it on special occasions. I remember us begging you to do our hair just like yours, and we would beam as daddy would tell us “You’re beautiful– just like your Mama!’”

Michelle liked the post so much she shared on the Duggars’ official Facebook page.

We guess there’s no question about who the favorite kid is this week.

We knew it was never gonna be Josh, but we thought maybe Jana had a chance?

Of course, she was probably too busy scrubbing dishes to pen a loving tribute to Michelle.

Jinger Duggar Taunts Jim Bob & Michelle With Latest instagram Pic

If you follow her family closely, then you’re probably aware that Jinger Duggar is currently living up to her reputation as the resident rebel.

It’s important to note that we mean “rebel” by the standards of the Duggar family, which means Jinger is wearing pants and living in a different state, not smoking cigarettes and listening to non-gospel music.

Subtle as they may be, however, Jinger’s actions are sending a loud and clear message to both her fans and her overbearing parents.

Photos of Jinger wearing shorts may not seem like a big deal to outsiders, but to Michelle and Jim Bob, those Instagram posts send a clear message that she’s no longer under their control.

The Duggars live a strictly patriarchal lifestyle, which means young women follow the rules set by their father until they marry … at which time, it’s their husbands who decide how they’re allowed to dress.

It’s a mind-blowingly archaic and oppressive system, but fortunately for Jinger, she married a man who doesn’t feel the need to dictate what his wife wears.

As such, the 25-year-old has been able to exchange the floor-length skirts and pre-approved “feminine” footwear she’s worn her whole life for pants, shorts, and sneakers.

And her chosen brand of athletic shoe is sending shockwaves through her family’s inner circle for one very strange reason.

Jinger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, posted the above photo of Jinger in a pair of Air Jordans and a Nike t-shirt.

For why that get-up has stirred so much controversy, we turn to the Duggar girls’ 2014 joint memoir, Growing Up Duggar.

In the book, Jinger and her sister revealed that the family uses “Nike” as a code word to let the men of the family know to avert their eyes (i.e. look at their Nikes) whenever a woman in a revealing outfit approaches.

“That’s a signal to the boys, and even to Dad, that they should nonchalantly drop their eyes and look down at their shoes as we walk past her,” the girls wrote.

“It’s meant to help keep the guys’ eyes from seeing things they shouldn’t be seeing. By using the single-word signal, the warning can be given quietly and discreetly.”

So it’s not hard to see why Jinger simultaneously flouting her family’s dress code while rocking head-to-toe Nikes would be taken as such an affront.

In case there’s any mistook their intentions, Jeremy also posted the above close-up of Jinger’s kicks, along with a caption reading:

“Her first pair of J’s Retro 7’s!”

Jeremy is not only encouraging Jinger to continue issuing middle fingers to her oppressive father, he’s also turning her into a sneaker head.

He officially has 1000% more swag than we initially thought.

We guess that’ll teach Jimbo to give his daughters’ potential suitors such a hard time.

Michelle Carter Sentenced to Minimum of 15 Months in Prison for Encouraging Boyfriend’s Suicide

Michelle Carter, the Massachusetts native who was convicted several weeks ago of involuntary manslaughter in the 2014 suicide of her boyfriend, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison today.

She is only expected to serve 15 months, however, as a judge declared the rest of her sentence suspended.

Moreover, Carter will not begin serving her term until her potential appeal is resolved, a judge ruled this afternoon.

Carter’s case has garnered national headlines due to its unusual nature.

While the way Carter acted toward Conrad Roy three years ago was undeniable despicable, questions have been raised over whether she ought to be held legally responsible for his death.

In July of 2014, Roy locked himself in his truck and committed suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning.

The incident took place after Carter, who was 17 years old at the time, urged Roy – through text messages and phone conversations – to take his own life.

She was even on the phone with him, encouraging the 18-year old, who had a history of mental illness, to remain his pickup truck as it filled with the deadly gas while it was parked near a store.

Altogether, it is believed Carter sent Roy over 1,000 text messages during their relationship.

Among the most damaging were messages such as the following:

• You always say you’re gonna do it, but you never do. I just want to make sure tonight is the real thing.


• You just have to do it.


• It’s painless and quick.

Authorities also discovered Carter’s written admission to a friend in which she thought back a phone call with Roy, who had exited his truck as it filled with toxic fumes.

He told her that he was frightened and didn’t want to abandon his family.

“Get back in,” Carter said she told him.

In June, Massachusetts Judge Lawrence Moniz found Carter guilty of involuntary manslaughter, describing her behavior as “reckless.”

While confirming the verdict, Moniz said that Carter instructed Roy “to get back into the truck well knowing of all of the feelings he [had] exchanged with her, his ambiguities, his fears, his concerns.”

During the case, prosecutors asked for Carter to receive between seven and 12 years in prison, while Carter’s lawyer recommended five years of supervised probation and mental health counseling.

According to court documents, Carter and Roy had been texting about death for many weeks leading up to the suicide, The Washington Post has written.

Per the newspaper, in one message, Carter (pictured below) wrote:

“You’re finally going to be happy in heaven. No more pain. It’s OK to be scared and it’s normal. I mean, you’re about to die.”

In a statement read in court prior to sentencing, Conrad’s mother, Lynn Roy, wrote the following:

“There is not one day that I do not mourn the loss of my beloved son.”

Added his father:

“Michelle Carter exploited my son’s weaknesses and used him as a pawn. How could Michelle Carter behave so viscously and encourage my son to end his life? Where was her humanity?”

In announcing today’s sentencing, Bristol County Juvenile Court Judge Lawrence Moniz said:

“This court must and has balanced between rehabilitation, the promise that rehabilitation would work and a punishment for the actions that have occurred.”

Michelle Duggar Posts Video Tribute to Jim Bob Duggar

Say what you will about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar (and there"s really so, so much to say), the couple knows how to make a marriage last.

It"s been 34 years since the reality stars met while Michelle was working the counter at a frozen yogurt stand owned by Jim Bob"s mother.

Each year, Michelle and Jim Bob"s wedding anniversary is a public celebration, with the couple taking to the Internet to extol the virtues of both monogamy and breeding like an army of your own children is your only defense against the impending zombie apocalypse.

This year, the couple took a trip to Hawaii, actually leaving their family responsibilities behind for once.

During their time in Kauai, Michelle posted a video tribute to her husband of 33 years, revealing some previously-unknown details about their early days together.

Michelle was slightly thrown off by the surprise trip to Hawaii, but she still found time to slip away and record her video love letter.

"I really, really wanted to express from my heart how grateful I am and how much I love and admire you," she says at the start.

Recalling their first meeting, Michelle says:

"You were shy, but very sweet …You finally mustered up the courage to ask me if I would go to your junior-senior banquet with you. I said yes."

Not surprisingly, Michelle and Jim Bob"s first date involved an all-night discussion of the Bible and ended with a prayer for marriage.

After she finishes her recollection of their early days together, Michelle launches into a list of her 100 favorite things about Jim Bob.

It"s no surprise trip to Hawaii, but she certainly put a lot of work into this.
