The whole world knows that Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” is about Katy Perry, but Taylor has never actually spoken out about about the song’s lyrical content. Until now.
Taylor covers the new issue of GQ, and in addition to looking the sexiest she’s ever looked on the cover (see below), she gives one of her most revealing interviews to date to renowned writer and pop culture expert.
When the topic of the long-standing Swift-Perry feud came up, Taylor played it coy, while at the same time basically admitting that the song is a shot at her pop-star rival”
“I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that,” Taylor said.
“I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn’t want to be labeled with this song. It was not a song about heartbreak. It was about the loss of friendship.”
Yes, she never specifically singled out one person, but she knew the song would be interpreted as a shot at Katy and she released it anyway without ever correcting that conception.
Taylor is a true master in the art of subtle shade.
