This Sunday, the MTV Video Music Awards brings viewers the best and most outrageous the music industry has to offer.
And while we"re not sure what people will be talking about Monday morning, we can at least get to gossiping about what the world was like ten years ago (the world being Hollywood).

She looks so…lady-like, so innocent.

Soooo there’s Jessica Simpson. And somewhere nearby was her ex-husband, Nick Lachey. Both were presenters at that year’s VMAs, which is OMGSoAwkward. Simpson and Nick Lachey announced their split the day before Thanksgiving 2005, and almost a month later, she filed for divorce after three years of marriage.
3. Nick Lachey and Nicole Richie
There he is! And no he wasn’t hooking up with Richie. However, his future wife, Vanessa Minnillo was also at the VMAs that year so…

Lachey co-starred in the music video for her future husband’s single, “What’s Left of Me” back in April of that year, and were full-on dating by the time the VMAs came around.
