Mackenzie McKee Reveals Mother"s Heartbreaking Brain Cancer Diagnosis

You probably know Mackenzie McKee best for her time on Teen Mom 3, and for her subsequent wild and crazy antics.

But today, Mackenzie is in the news for a different, much more upsetting reason …

It’s because she just revealed that her mother, Angie Douthit, has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

It sounds like the family just got the news on Tuesday — that night, Mackenzie tweeted “Haven’t cried this hard in over ten years. By far the worst night of my life.”

A few hours later, she asked “all prayer warriors” to “please pray for my mom.”

“What we thought was bronchitis turned out to be 3 masses on her brain, 1 large imone in her lungs and multiple blood clots,” she explained.

“We are in shock and devastated. She has brain surgery tomorrow. I’m sick. I’m so sick and want to wake up from this nightmare.”

Yesterday, Angie did have the brain surgery, but TMZ reports that things are even worse than they previously thought.

Doctors found two more lesions in her brain, as well as multiple masses in her lungs. She’s been diagnosed with stage four brain cancer.

The family has made a GoFundMe account to help with the costs of treatment — remember, although Mackenzie was a Teen Mom, the girls from Teen Mom 3 only filmed for one season, and they never made the money the other moms did.

In the information for the fundraiser, Angie’s family explains that her tumors “cover almost the entire brain,” and the cancer “started in her lungs with several masses and spread to her brain.”

“Angie has always been the healthiest person,” she “doesn’t smoke and never did,” and she also abstains from alcohol, eats organic, and runs marathons, “so this has come as a complete shock to the family.”

In an update, it was revealed that Angie will get an MRI and a bone scan today, along with a few other tests, to determine the course of treatments.

In another heartbreaking update, Angie herself wrote that her family had given her running gear for Christmas, and “Since I can’t run right now, I challenge all of u to run for me tomorrow believing that I will soon get to run and wear my new things.”

Yesterday, Mackenzie shared a collage of photos of her mother on Instagram, calling her “the most amazing woman I know.”

“She taught me everything I know. She is the only reason I am the woman I am today. I love you Mom. I’m devastated, I’m angry, I’m shook, I can’t breathe.”

“You are everything,” she finished. “Please pray.”

In a statement she gave to Us Weekly, Mackenzie echoed the information on Angie’s GoFundMe page, saying “She is the healthiest person I know. Eats healthier than me. Always organic.”

“Doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink, she is a school teacher so she has no money. She runs marathons and works out two to three times a day. This does not run in our family.”

“I am so sad,” she continued. “I can barely breathe. I can not lose her.”

“She did ask that I blog her whole journey and make a documentary in case something does happen we will always have that. I know God will use her to speak to others.”

Mackenzie does seem intent on documenting everything so far — her last update was a couple of hours ago on Twitter, where she wrote “Does your body ever run out of tears?”

Best wishes for her and her family as they go through this tragic ordeal.

Jax Taylor: Father of Vanderpump Rules Star Dies Following Battle With Cancer

Sad news out of the world of reality television today, as Ronald Cauchi, the father of Vanderpump Rules star Jax Taylor, has passed away following a battle with cancer.

Taylor broke the news to his social media followers with a heartfelt message last night:

“My heart is broken, I lost my best friend and the best man I have ever met last night, I love you so much dad I can’t even breathe anymore, only person not letting me fall right now is my amazing girlfriend. I love you dad,” Jax tweeted.

Taylor first revealed that his father was battling stage IV cancer earlier this month:

“Yes cancer f–king sucks, watching my father go through this is killing me.. prayers to all the families that have to deal with this awful disease,” he tweeted on December 4.

“I don’t wish this disease on my worst enemy. #f–kcancer watching your loved ones battle while I sit and watch is the worst feeling.”

In the weeks that followed, Taylor opened up about his father’s illness in a number of candid interviews:

“It’s rough, because my dad, he’s like my idol,” Jax told The Daily Dish on December 11.

“My dad was always the person who never got sick, I always looked up to him. … It’s hurt our family. It’s hurt everybody. It just really sucks. During the holidays, it doesn’t make it any easier.”

Shortly thereafter, he made similar comments in an interview with Us Weekly:

“What do I want for Christmas this year? I want cancer to be out of my father’s body,” he told the magazine.

“If I can ask for anything right now, I just want my dad to be better.”

Jax’s co-stars have publicly offered their condolences and words of support on social media:

“Let’s flood @mrjaxtaylor with love and compassion. So sorry for your loss my friend,” tweeted VPR fan favorite Tom Schwartz.

“I’m so sorry brother,” remarked SUR restaurant manager Peter Madrigal.

Jax’s famous boss, Lisa Vanderpump, has urged fans to allow Jax his privacy and give his family time to heal.

Our thoughts go out to the Taylor family during this difficult time.

Ami Brown Cancer Update: Is She Too Sick to Film?

Following Discovery’s Alaskan Bush People Christmas special, fans and viewers couldn’t help but wonder how Ami Brown’s cancer battle is going.

And whether that special might be the last time that they see the Brown family matriarch on their televisions.

Let’s look at what we know.

Ami Brown has been battling lung cancer.

She finished her second round of chemo before Thanksgiving and the family sounded optimistic during the Christmas special (which was also filmed before Thanksgiving).

Positivity is great, but Ami Brown was not miraculously cured of cancer. Even though we all wish that she had been.

Instead, comments that she was no longer “sick” were references to the fact that she was over her chemo treatments.

Chemo, of course, can horribly ravage the body — the idea being that it also horribly ravages the cancer and that the cancer, not being a whole person, will die but the body itself will tough it out.

Ami Brown is still fighting her cancer, of course, but she needs to take rests to recover between rounds of chemo.

And, of course, she reportedly suffered a setback.

As we mentioned, the non-fan page Alaskan Bush People Exposed shared the context of the Christmas special.

“Last night’s show was filmed before Thanksgiving and Ami was doing fairly well after finishing chemo.”

They also shared an unhappy update.

“Shortly after Thanksgiving she suffered a brief setback and was very ill.”

But there’s good news.

“She is doing better now and back on the mend. They are still in Los Angeles, and she is recuperating.”

And they offer a dose of reality for those who need it.

“There has been no miracle cure and unfortunately this will be a long battle for her. She has lost a lot of her hair, wears a hat most of the time and very frail.”

Even as a non-fan site, they’re trying to remain optimistic.

“Hopefully, after the holidays she will get strong enough to start filming the upcoming season.”

RadarOnline reports that Ami Brown will be heavily featured in the eighth season of Alaskan Bush People.

While those are, again, rumors, that’s welcome news.

Especially after so many of the show’s fans had feared that the family would film season 8 without Ami Brown.

Interestingly, there are conflicting reports about how much of this season of Alaskan Bush People has actually been filmed, with some suggesting that they’ve pretty much wrapped.

Considering how little time Ami Brown has spent in Colorado — where the family’s new homestead is — we have to figure that either they have more filming to do, or she won’t appear in this season that much.

No one knows what Ami Brown’s future will bring.

In a heartbreaking confession, (now) 15-year-old Rain Brown admitted that she doesn’t know if her mother will make it.

“My mom and I spent all morning making our favorite peach tea and our own mix of essential oils together (frankincense, eucalyptus, pink grapefruit, and spearmint) with coconut oil as a carrier and a touch of shimmer.”

This was during Ami’s second chemotherapy treatment.

“She is now going through her second round of chemo, sadly I can’t say how she is doing just yet, but we are all hopeful and faithfu.”

As the Brown family’s de facto spokesperson in recent months (because of her social media presence), Rain is more aware than anyone of all of the support, prayers, and well wishes that Ami and the Browns have received.

“Thank you all so much for your support and love in this harsh time.”

Ami Brown is battling lung cancer. It wasn’t caught in early screening. She and her husband have been known as serious smokers.

(Billy Brown’s been slammed by fans for not giving up smoking despite his wife’s cancer)

So, though Ami’s been getting first-rate health care and a filming schedule that revolves around her health and ability to film, prospects have looked grim from very early on.

That doesn’t mean that there’s no reason to hope for her to make a recovery, however.

Ami Brown: Was Her Cancer Really Cured in a Christmas Miracle?!

Remember when we told you about this year’s Alaskan Bush People Christmas Special? Well it happened and, despite the fears of many fans and members of the Brown family itself, Ami Brown was able to participate.

In doing so, we got a very hopeful update on Ami Brown’s battle with cancer. For one thing, she was done with that round of chemotherapy.

But was the good news — or “Christmas miracle,” as it’s been touted by some — really what it seemed?

We’re not going to ask anyone to test their belief in miracles. That’s a matter of personal religious convictions (not every faith believes in miracles, and not every person of a miracle-friendly faith believes in them).

Instead, we’re just going to question whether the beautiful story of Ami making a recovery, as told on the Christmas Special, was misleading.

In other words: is she actually cured at all?

Ami’s doctor said this:

“There’s every single reason to be hopeful and absolutely optimistic.”

This was, of course, after Ami Brown’s second round of chemotherapy. Hope and optimism can’t fight cancer alone, but studies have demonstrated that they can have a powerful effect on someone’s odds of surviving cancer.

The doctor also said: “You were pretty sick. You got through it!”

Now, reality shows are often edited, and editing can lead to very misleading statements.

Was the doctor talking about Ami’s serious and possibly terminal lung cancer in the past tense?

Or was the doctor talking about Ami’s adverse reactions to chemotherapy?

Billy Brown also spoke about Ami’s health, announcing:

“Her lungs are clear!”

Sure … but does he mean clear of fluid, like a person might get if they are sick? Or does he mean clear of cancer, which would be positively miraculous after only two rounds of chemotherapy?

“She’s still weak and has a cough and all that, but if you look at her eyes it’s the best part because Ami’s back inside there and she wasn’t for a while.”

When he says that she “has a cough,” that sounds like a very delicate way of referring to lung cancer.

Chemo can cause people to zone out. Have you ever known someone on chemo? They nap a lot. They seldom eat and they have no energy.

Billy sure sounds optimistic.

“We’ve been in California for so long, and up until recently we haven’t been able to look out and see if there’s a road going out of here or not. But now it’s a good beginning!”

Ami’s reply is a little vague:

“Life is a gift.”

Bird did confessional segments during the Alaskan Bush People Christmas Special.

She gave it in front of a backdrop meant to resemble a simple cabin, even though we all know that they’re living in L.A. and Bird even acknowledged their location:

“It still feels unreal that we’re celebrating for Christmas and doing our tree in like, a desert.”

(Fun fact: the use of actual Christmas trees is not commonplace in L.A. because it’s a desert)

Bird and the rest of her family used that element of surprise to their advantage, to Ami’s delight.

“She won’t be expecting Christmas at all.”

Well, to be fair, nobody expects Christmas before Thanksgiving.

Billy Brown seems eager to point to the bright side of things.

“It’s been a hard road,” he says. “But to know that it’s been worth it and to know that it’s better than it was, no matter what it may be, makes it all feel very good.”

The non-fan page, Alaskan Bush People Exposed, had their own commentary about the Alaskan Bush People Christmas Special.

“Last night’s show was filmed before Thanksgiving and Ami was doing fairly well after finishing chemo.”

That much, we knew. (Though it may have been less-than-obvious to your average viewer that this was filmed so far in advance)

“Shortly after Thanksgiving she suffered a brief setback and was very ill.”

That is crushing news, but Alaskan Bush People Exposed has been pretty reliable about this sort of information, so we’re inclined to believe it.

“She is doing better now and back on the mend. They are still in Los Angeles, and she is recuperating.”

That, at least, is good news. But not all of the news is good.

“There has been no miracle cure and unfortunately this will be a long battle for her.”

We figured as much, because that’s how cancer works. Even the page administrator feels sorry for Ami.

(The page may not like Alaskan Bush People, but they’re not cheering for anybody to have cancer)

“She has lost a lot of her hair, wears a hat most of the time and very frail.”

Some of that was apparent, even in the special.

“Hopefully, after the holidays she will get strong enough to start filming the upcoming season.”

Remember, folks, even Rain Brown doesn’t know if her mom will survive.

If it sounds like somebody’s cancer went away like magic, you’re hearing optimism and editing.

We all hope that Ami pulls through — even people who can’t stand the show are hoping that.

But we need to remember that, best case scenario, Ami has a long, long road to recovery.

Jenelle Evans: LYING About David Eason"s Cancer Diagnosis?!

Earlier this week, Jenelle Evans stunned fans when she tweeted that hter husband, David Eason, had battled cancer.

It was the first time that Evans had mentioned Eason"s thyroidectomy and radation therapy, and many were confused as to why she waited so long.

After all, it"s not as though Jenelle is the quiet type.

Evans says she simply wanted to protect her husband"s privacy, but at least one person close to the situation thinks this is another case of Jenelle bending the truth to suit her needs…

1. The Easons

Mr and mrs eason

Jenelle and David have been through a lot in their relatively short time together. This week, in a fit of rage, Evans revealed that they’d kept one of their greatest struggles a secret.

2. The Wrath of Jenelle

We learned about David’s battle with cancer when Jenelle flipped out on a random Twitter troll. The user remarked that tall people like David have shorter life expectancies, and Jenelle just lost it …

3. The Big Sick

Jenelle slammed the remarks about David as insensitive “especially because he’s a cancer survivor.” Naturally, fans were to quick to ask for elaboration following this bombshell.

4. Calling BS

One fan who claimed to have insider knowledge of the situation insisted that Jenelle was lying. “He didn’t have cancer!” the follower wrote. “Like women have preventative mastectomies because they have a family history.

5. A Fair Point…

“If [David] really was a cancer survivor don’t you think Jenelle would’ve sold a million stories by now?” the fan concluded. Many fans agreed that Jenelle is not the type to keep something like this to herself.

6. Jenelle Claps Back

Jenelle was having none of this fan’s argument, and she offered up what she claimed was visual evidence that David has undergone life-saving cancer treatment.

Jenelle Evans Tweets About David Eason"s Cancer, Stuns Fans

Jenelle Evans and David Eason have endured a lot in their short time together.

Obviously, many–if not most–of their problems are self-created, but the newlyweds have also been dealt some bad hands by fate.

Earlier this week, one of Jenelle’s Twitter followers threw some mortality shade in what might be a candidate for Most Random Tweet of the Year.

“Taller people have shorter life expectencies. Just throwing this in the mix,” the hater wrote beneath a photo from Jenelle and David’s wedding.

Yes, someone looked at a photo of a smiling couple that had just tied the knot and thought, “Whatever, the guy’s gonna die soon, anyway.”

Fortunately, Jenelle apparently has fans, and many of them jumped to her defense, informing the Angel of Death that her tweet was obnoxious and out of line.

Initially, it looked like Jenelle would sit this one out, but eventually, she chimed in with a revelation that left fans stunned.

“Especially because he’s a cancer survivor…” Evans tweeted.

Asked for clarification, Evans wrote:

“Uhm..He had a thyroidectomy, why do you think he has a scar across his throat? He just doesn’t scream it out to everyone. It’s scary for us to deal with.”

Yes, it seems David survived a bout with thyroid cancer.

Jenelle went on to reveal that his treatment was long and difficult–and his family offered nothing in the way of support:

“He had radiation therapy,” Evans wrote, adding:

“Of course none of his family was there helping him either going through this. If you only knew the truth.”

Fans were aware that Eason has endured a difficult past, but this is the first time that Jenelle has spoken about his battle with cancer.

She did not go into detail with regard to how long ago the treatment took place.

Currently, Jenelle and David are going through yet another difficult time.

It was revealed today that Jenelle has accused her mother, Barbara Eason, of abusing her son Jace.

Jenelle called the police on Barbara last month, but no arrests were made.

Shannen Doherty: My Cancer Will Be with Me Forever!

Shannen Doherty has been such an inspiration for the past couple of years, huh?

It was all the way back in August of 2015 when we learned that she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer, and ever since then, she’s pretty much been a total hero.

Or a “cancer slayer,” as she calls herself.

Things were rough for her from the get-go — her cancer diagnosis was revealed in a lawsuit against her former manager, who had failed to obtain insurance for her.

Since she didn’t have insurance, it took her longer to get in a visit with her doctor, and if she’d been able to get medical attention earlier, her cancer may have been caught earlier.

If that had happened, she may have avoided all the chemotherapy and radiation she went through this past year.

Thankfully, even though Shannen did seem to have a rough time for a long time, she announced in April that the cancer was officially in remission.

And now, since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she’s taking some time to share another one of her inspirational messages, along with a heartbreaking photo:

“This image is so personal to me,” she said of the picture above. “I had started chemo. Was using a cold cap in hope to not lose my hair.”

“End result was clumps in my hands.”

Shannen wrote that “I was sick, felt like I was losing myself. Gained people and lost people. Got weak and got strong. Felt ugly and yet more beautiful inside than I had ever felt before.”

“I remember this like it was yesterday, like it was a minute ago.”

“Cancer has so many phases,” she explained. “Shock, denial, acceptance, anger, resentment, rebellion, fear, appreciation, beauty. Remission.”

“Even then, the phases keep coming. Cancer is with you forever.”

Because, she wrote, “Those who have experienced it know that even after you’ve kicked it’s ass, it still impacts you, in good ways and bad.”

“You still go thru the roller coaster of emotions. You still need support and love. And you can still grasp life and live, live live.”

It’s such a strong message, and it’s clear that she’s touched a lot of people with it.

If you check the comment section on her photo, it’s full of people who have battled cancer or who have loved ones with the disease, and it’s clear that Shannen is a bright light in all that darkness.

“I’m struggling right now,” one person wrote to her. “Stage 4 Metastasis Breast Cancer. Been Battling 2 years now. It’s so mentally draining. I just try and focus on the good.”

“My 5 year old son is my strength. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’ve always been a fan and now I feel so connected.”

“Lost my wife to cancer 5 weeks ago today at 48 years old,” another person commented. “I’m a broken man and miss her so much … we were married 27 years together 33 years my world she was.”

“I know the day her hair fell out was her worst feeling through her fight. Keep strong Shannen.”

Another Shannen fan simply wrote “My battle started in 1972… and I am still here sweetie … and so are YOU!”

We’re not crying, you’re crying.

Just kidding, literally everyone is crying.

Thank you, Shannen, for this and for all that you do.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

One of the television world’s most beloved and accomplished actresses has shocked fans with a bit of frightening news.

According to a tweet posted just moments ago, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The actress, best known for her acclaimed work on Seinfeld and Veep, revealed the news to her followers with a plea for a greater understanding of the disease and improvements in treatment and research:

“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Dreyfus wrote.

“The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union,” the 56-year-old actress continued.

“The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”

Earlier this month, Dreyfus won her sixth Emmy, breaking the record for most wins for a single role.

She and husband Brad Hall have two sons together.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dreyfus received the news of her diagnosis just one day after her historic victory at the 2017 Emmys.

In a statement issued to the outlet by HBO, network execs say they have every intention of going forward with their plan to have Dreyfus’ acclaimed comedy back for a final season.

Sources say Veep producers will adjust their shooting schedule as needed to accommodate Dreyfus’ treatment.

“Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time,” reads the statement.

“We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of Veep.”

Twitter was flooded with messages of support for Dreyfus within minutes of her announcement.

Many applauded the actress for taking a moment to address the need for universal health care while in the midst of what may be the most frightening ordeal of her life.

It’s a testament to the courage and compassion that Dreyfus’ co-stars and loved ones say is even more laudable than her impressive body of work.

Our thoughts go out to Julia and her family as they gear up for the fight of a lifetime.
