Kate and Jon Gosselin Celebrate Sextuplets" 13th Birthday, Manage to Be Sweet
On this day, 13 years ago, Kate Gosselin was recovering from giving birth to six babies.
And you know what that means: it means that we as a people have somehow survived being aware of the Gosselins for nearly a decade and a half.
Oh, it also means that yesterday was the sextuplets’ 13th birthday.
What a special day, huh?
Kate is now the mother of eight teenagers, which sounds like a special kind of hell, and she now has eight teenagers to withhold from Jon Gosselin.
And the woman is pretty happy about the whole thing.
In an uncharacteristically touching post she shared on Instagram yesterday, Kate wrote “HAPPY 13th BIRTHDAY, my precious Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel!!”
“At this moment (7:51-7:53 am) 13 years ago, my life and heart were completed with your births!”
“I love you all and NO MATTER WHAT it requires of me, I will ALWAYS be there for you,” she promised.
“I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader, your role model by example, your shoulder to cry on, the hug and laugh you need, and your mommy and friend!”
“I love you guys! I got six times what I planned on, but I’d NEVER EVER go back! You’re the final six pieced of my heart that I never knew I was looking for,” she finished.
In another post just before their birthday, she shared a photo of a tiny diaper — the same kind they wore when they were born.
“Sitting in my room with the kids… thinking back to almost 13 years ago,” she wrote in the caption.
“I pulled out this extra small preemie diaper from the NICU.. I’ve kept in my bedside table drawer, wherever we moved….to always remind me of how far we’ve come!”
She added that “the kids were awed,” which makes sense — it’s hard to believe that diaper would fit an actual human baby.
In the hashtags, she reminded us that when they were born, the sextuplets weighed between two and three pounds. Oh, how far they’ve come!
But Kate wasn’t the only one to share the celebratory spirit with us. Jon shared a photo of the birthday cake he got for the kids:
“I can’t believe my little kids will be 13 tomorrow!!!” he wrote in the caption.
He even took things a step further, giving a quick interview to E! News about the special occasion.
Jon explained that he was able to celebrate the kids’ birthday on Monday, and that “I had four of them: Hannah, Lean, Joel and Aaden.”
“I cooked burgers and hot dogs on the grill and we did presents and played football in the backyard,” he said. “After that, we did cake and ice cream. It was good.”
When asked how it feels to be the parent of eight teenagers now, he said “It’s only been a couple of hours, so we’ll see. It’s going to be interesting!”
Yeah, Jon. We bet it will be.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick Celebrate Sons" Birthday, Romantic Reconciliation

What Kourtney Kardashian pregnant rumors and baby daddy controversy?!?
Despite talk circulating around the Internet of Kourtney possibly expecting a fourth child with another man (Younes Bendjima, to be specific), the relationship between Kardashian and Disick appears to be stronger than ever.
Does this mean they are back together in a romantic sense?
All we can say for certain is that they are back together in a literal sense. To wit:
However, all indications do point to a reconciliation.
Take the above photo, for instance.
Kourtney shared it on her Instagram account last week and it depicts her and Scott out and about, having a good time on a skiing trip.
But the caption is even more telling.
It reads: “Mom and Dad.”
This is true, of course. Kardashian and Disick are the parents of three cute kids: Mason, 7, Penelope, 4, and Reign, 2.
But it’s hard not to interpret that message as having a figurative meaning as well; as being a subtle way of Kourtney telling the world that she and Scott are officially “Mom and Dad” once again.
And that the family is back to being whole.
Fast forward a few days and Kardashian also posted the picture above to her social media account.
It was snapped at the joint birthday party she and Disick hosted for Mason and Reign (the brothers are five years apart, yet actually share the same birthday).
“Mason and Reign’s FAST & FURIOUS birthday party,” Kourtney wrote as a caption this time around, encouraging followers to visit her app for more photos.
It’s nothing new for Kourtney and Scott to spend time together with their kids.
However you feel about these two as a couple, props must be given for how they always have put their family first.
Even back when they were experiencing their very worst problems (Kourtney ended their romance after nine years in the summer of 2015 amidst rumors of Disick partying and maybe cheating with an ex), the stars were often spotted together with their children.
They seem to have their priorities in order.
Like just this past Halloween, when they dressed as superheroes to go trick-or-treating with their equally super young kids:
Still, neither Kourtney nor Scott will come right out and confirm their status, one way or the other.
One day, a tabloid claims they are back together. The next day, a different tabloid screams that they are over.
“Kourtney and Scott are really making up for lost time right now,” a source told Radar Online late in 2016, hilariously adding:
“They are having sex nonstop in hopes that Kourtney will become pregnant right away. She really wants to conceive in time for the holidays!”
Of course, mere days later, another Radar report claimed that Scott “doesn’t” want any more children… the two “could not agree on where their relationship” was going… and are on “another break.”
So, who the heck knows at this point?!?
In the end, only two things matter:
- Kourtney and Scott keep putting their kids first.
- Kourtney keeps posing in a bikini.
So far, as you can tell above and below, so good on those fronts.

Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson Celebrate Wedding With New Year"s Bash!
Back in June, Michael Phelps married Nicole Johnson in a small, private ceremony in Arizona.
Phelps and Johnson had recently welcomed their first son, and they were eager to tie the knot, but sought to keep the news under wraps, so as to not distract from his preparation for the Rio Olympics.
Now, Phelps has retired as the most decorated Olympian of all time, which means he’s finally free to party like all the non-superhumans he shares a planet with.
Phelps and Johnson celebrated their marriage in style on New Year’s Eve, with a huge party for their families, as well as for the many friends who weren’t able to attend the previous, more low-key reception.
Celebrity-ish guests in attendance included Olympic swimmers Allison Schmitt and Elizabeth Beisel, as well as Johnson’s makeup artist, Lisa G.
“I am headed over to get Nicole, her mom and besties makeup ready for the evening!!” Lisa wrote on Instagram before the party.
“I can’t wait for all of the festivities and to dance the night away!!”
Phelps and Johnson had a second ceremony back in October, and now they’ve celebrated their love once again with a Gatsby-themed soiree that would put Fitzgerald to shame.
We guess when you’re one of the most celebrated athletes in American history, your have your wedding last all year and no one will complain.
As for why the couple decided to get hitched in June rather than just waiting until after the Rio games, Phelps says they were motivated by logistics:
“Simple reason,” Phelps recently told Sports Illustrated.
“Boomer’s last name was Phelps and Nicole’s was Johnson, and that was going to make overseas travel more difficult.”
He added:
“We were getting married anyway, so we just did it.”
Phelps has said little about how he plans to spend his retirement, but it seems like he’ll be focusing on family life and shooting Intel commercials with Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.
Hey, with everything he’s accomplished, the guy could spend the rest of his life in a recliner and still get mobbed for autographs when he leaves the house to stock up on Hot Pockets and Miller High Life.
He may never return to the pool for competition, but at least swim fans can look forward to the Olympic debut of Lil Boomer.
