Nivea Releases Controversial Ad; The Internet Isn"t Having It

You may have thought that, after seeing the new Pepsi commercial with Kendall Jenner, you"d seen all the unbelievably ridiculous ads the world had to offer this week.

And if you did think that, then you"d be wrong. So very, very wrong.

Nivea, the popular beauty brand known for its lotions and moisturizers, released a new ad targeted at its Middle Eastern customers this week.

And you won"t even believe how bad it is.

The ad pictures a woman facing a window, with the words "White is Purity" along the bottom of the photo.

For real.

The image quickly made its way across all of social media, and pretty much everyone is an agreement: this is a racist garbage ad, intentional or not.

See some of the best reactions below!

1. The Ad Itself

The ad itself

Someone actually thought this was a good idea. Several people, actually. What a world …

2. Yeah, Come On

Yeah come on

Really, this says it all, right?

3. Boycott!

Boycott

Is this company really full of closet racists? It’s hard to say, but it sure is full of questionable choices.

4. The Real Question

The real question

How can so many people be so ignorant?

5. Overt Racism

Overt racism

Like, this is the world we live in …

6. Not the First Time …

Not the first time

Horrifically enough, a few years ago Nivea released that ad on the right, the one that showed a man throwing an actual head, complete with an afro, with the words “Re-Civilize Yourself” and “Look Like You Give a Damn.” How did they not learn?!

Khloe Kardashian: Under Fire for Controversial Vagina Treatments?!

Sometimes it seems like Khloe Kardashian just can’t catch a break.

Sure, she’s got more money than she knows what to do with, she has a big, loving family, she has her pick of basically any professional athlete she could possibly want.

But with all of those pros, there are a good few cons: her marriage to Lamar Odom failed, she had to watch him nearly die, and they were never able to have children together, despite trying.

And on top of all that, Khloe may be ruining her vagina.

Earlier this month, Khloe took to her app to share a list of items and activities she uses to keep things in tip-top shape down there.

There were several hygiene products on the list — a special vagina soap, wipes for on-the-go cleaning, lotions and creams.

She also suggested her followers use some little Ben Wa balls, which, as she described, is “like Pilates for your cha-cha!”, and some fancy $ 200 device to check out the progress of her Kegel exercises.

But she also advertised a “vajacial” — a sort of facial for your nether regions.

And that’s where she goes wrong.

Khloe gets her vajacials from some wax bar in L.A., and essentially she pays someone $ 75 for “exfoliation, toning, and a ‘face’ mask.”

The treatment is also meant to remove any ingrown hairs and clear up pores.

But as Dr. Amir Marashi, a gynecologist known in some circles as the Vagina Whisperer, tells Radar Online, the procedure definitely isn’t recommended.

He does admit that “I like the fact that all celebrities are talking about vagina because we’ve been ignoring vaginas for a long time.”

“I’m really happy celebs are talking — it makes it more comfortable for other people to start talking about it.”

But still, he says “I prefer people to get their health care tips from doctors or health care professionals.”

He also points out that since Khloe is so famous, someone giving her vagina a facial would likely be way more careful than they would with anyone else.

“Patients come to me after this treatment,” he says. “It can very easily be harmed.”

The issue, Dr. Marashi explains, is that when getting this vajacial nonsense, the salon worker will often extend the treatment to the inside, into the actual vagina.

And you don’t want someone who isn’t a medical professional digging around in there with tools.

So hey, how crazy is it that a doctor had to take the time to make a statement about how dumb a Kardashian is?

What a world. And you know we don’t mean that in a good way.

Snoop Dogg Jokes About Assassinating Trump in Controversial New Video

Whether you like his music and agree with his message or not, you"ve gotta hand it to Snoop D-O-double-G:

He"s at a point in his career where he could coast off his image as one of the music world"s two favorite stoners (he seems to be locked in a perpetual tie with Willie Nelson) and cash in on his cross-cultural appeal by popping up for the occasional film cameo and co-hosting cooking shows with Martha Stewart.

But instead, Snoop continues to make new music and videos that address topical issues of today in a provocative and (no pun intended) blunt fashion.

In his latest, Snoop finds himself inhabiting a world of clowns, led, of course, by our current jester-in-chief, Donald Trump.

The clip finds Snoop tasked with standing up for what"s right in a world full of circus performers.

Despite the jocular tone, there"s an unmistakable aura of outrage, as Snoop and the video"s director address not only the atrocities of the Trump presidency, but also the growing police brutality directed at black Americans.

"It ain"t no fun when the rabbit"s got the gun, is it?" the rapper asks at one point before pointing a pistol at a clown that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Donald.

The weapon turns out to be a prop, and we"re sure Snoop is in no way calling for the assassination of Trump, but the video has many on the right upset nonetheless.

Check out the video for "Lavender" below, and decide for yourself:

Saturday Night Live Airs Controversial Kellyanne Conway Skit: Watch!

Were you able to catch Saturday Night Live last night? If not, then boy, you sure are in for a treat right now …

This current season of SNL has gotten a whole lot of mileage out of Donald Trump and all of his countless atrocities, including the people he"s hired to work in the White House.

And one of those people is the utterly ridiculous Kellyanne Conway, played on the show by the extremely lovely, very hilarious Kate McKinnon.

But last night, there was a Fatal Attraction-esque skit featuring McKinnon"s Kellyanne. And according to some people, it went way too far.

In the skit, CNN"s Jake Tapper went home to his apartment to find Kellyanne, looking mighty unhinged in some lingerie.

Poor Kellyanne was just so very, very desperate for Jake to put her back on the news, even after that "little ethics violation" that occurred when she tried to sell Ivanka Trump"s clothing during an interview.

So desperate that, at one point, she held a knife to his throat.

It was pretty intense, but also pretty funny. But a lot of viewers didn"t see it that way.

As one person tweeted, "SNL just gave a gift to the White House with this sexist, unfunny Kellyanne Conway skit."

Another wrote "As much as I loathe Kellyanne, this highly sexualized SNL version of her gives me the icks."

Was the skit funny? Sexist? Extreme?

84 Lumber: Watch the Full, Controversial Super Bowl Ad

An exciting football game broke out in between various political protests on Sunday night.

Indeed, while many may remember Super Bowl LI as the first overtime contest in the history of this NFL championship game, others may consider the event special due to the unique nature of the ads.

Some were silly. Some were funny. Some featured celebrities.

However others clearly tried to send a message to the world.

There was the controversial Budweiser ad that told the story of that beer"s immigrant founder.

There was the Airbnb commercial that took a clear stance on Donald Trump"s immigration policy.

But the following spot for 84 Lumber represented the most obvious, clear cut case of a company using its time to focus on something far beyond its product.

A building materials supply company, 84 Lumber spent considerable money to show viewers a mother and daughter embarking on a journey across Mexico in a bid to reach the United States.

The ad"s initial version – in which the loved ones are blocked by a forbidding border wall – was deemed "too controversial" to air by Fox executives.

Therefore, the company settled on a 90-second ad that depicted portions of the journey, with an invitation to watch its conclusion online.

And that conclusion is what we present below.

At the end of it, the mother and daughter find a wooden gate in the wall, which opens to the tagline: "The will to succeed is always welcome here."

Did the company"s gamble to get this political off?

According to People Magazine, traffic to the 84 Lumber website last night was so intense and ongoing that it caused the site to crash.

"We will always support the American Dream," wrote 84 Lumber on Twitter shortly after the ad aired.

“This is a conversation that’s taking place in homes across America and so 84 Lumber was willing to be part of that conversation, to be relevant and timely,” Rob Schapiro, chief creative officer of 84 Lumber’s ad agency Brunner, told Business Insider.

“In Part Two [of the ad] you will see what a beacon of light America is, not just within America but beyond to other countries.

"We are that beacon of light for people for finding success from hard work and making a contribution.

Scandal Did WHAT?!? Kerry Washington Reacts to Controversial Killing

WARNING:

The following article contains major Scandal spoilers in light of the shocking event that highlighted this show’s wildly anticipated return on Thursday night.

Do not read any further if you wish to remain in the dark about what went down on Scandal Season 6 Episode 1.

Okay? Ready? Warning heeded?

Good, let us start here in that case: HOLY MOTHEREFFIN CRAP!!!!!!!

On the first new episode of this beloved drama since last May, viewers learned early on that Mellie lost the Presidential election to Frankie Vargas by just a few thousand votes.

Yes, a controversial male candidate defeated a female candidate for President by a razor thin margin.

The episode was filmed about six months ago, so while the election storyline may have been inspired by Donald Trump taking on Hillary Clinton in the real life Oval Office race… the result was more prescient than reactive.

What happened next, however, is what left jaws around the country dropped to the ground and what has led to significant backlash against the Shonda Rhimes-created series:

Vargas was shot while giving a speech on national TV.

He was taken to the hospital, where he quickly flatlined and died.

As mentioned above, the premiere was filmed several months ago.

Nevertheless, Scandal is under a bit of fire at the moment for even daring to go here; for actually airing a plot that centers around a Presidential assassination during a political environment so fraught with tension and anger.

The episode was originally slated to air last Thursday night, a day before Trump was sworn as POTUS, until ABC moved it back at the last minute so the network could air a special about Trump’s family.

Was this postponement related to the delicate subject matter?

No, ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey tells TV Line.

“Here’s the thing: It is a fictional story about fictional characters in a fictional world, that very much builds off of everything we did in Season 5,” she explains.

Dungey does acknowledge a “weird similarity” to what happened in the actual election on November 8 between Trump an Hillary Clinton, but emphasizes that this storyline isn’t even about the late President-Elect himself.

It’s about Cyrus (who Fitz appointed as his successor!) and whether he actually planned the murder.

“That’s an inciting incident that’s about plot,” Dungey says, adding:

“Because what the episode is about is something completely different. It’s about Cyrus’ complicity, or not, [in his running mate’s murder]. So while I feel like, ‘Sure, there’s a tiny bit of an eerie something,’ the story we’re telling is a very different story.

“Again, it’s a fictional story in a fictional universe. And it’s a great story for Scandal.”

Star Kerry Washington was also asked about the parallel between this stunning turn of election events and the equally stunning result that has gobsmacked America.

“I think it’s important that people know that the episode was written a long time before the outcome of this past November. I think that’s important,” Washington tells Entertainment Weekly, adding in more detail:

“It doesn’t get lost on me every day that for years the culture of this show was that the things we say and do are outrageous and unfathomable, and now we’re having to change plot lines and reconsider air dates because it’s too close to what’s actually happening or could be misconstrued as such.

“That is a reality that I am consistently trying to wrap my head around.”

It’s true. Real life is even more bizarre and harder to predict that Scandal.

That sort of says it all, doesn’t it?

We’ve included a link below so that readers can watch Scandal online in order to put this premiere in perspective:

Does the series deserve any kind of criticism for killing off a Trump-like character?

Or are critics reading too much into what, at the end of the day, is merely a TV show?

And also: can you believe Donald Trump is President of the United States?!? Like, all of the United States?!?

Jill Dillard Shares Controversial Photos of Stillborn Jubilee Shalom Duggar

Jill Dillard is about to come under fire for a controversial move that the Duggars made back in 2011 — the sharing of photos featuring a stillborn Jubilee Shalom Duggar

In memoriam, Dillard opted to share the pics with her Instagram following of over 1 million followers, most of which who were divided on the divisive pics.

On her Instagram page, she wrote, “5 years ago today my mom gave birth to my youngest little sister, Jubilee Shalom Duggar and Jesus welcomed her home to Heaven!”

“She is a testimony to every life being beautiful; at 18 weeks gestation, she was a beautiful baby with little blue eyes, 10 fingers & 10 toes!,” Duggar continued.

“She weighed 4 oz. and was 6 inches long.”

“We miss you Jubilee and look forward to meeting you one day in Heaven! @duggarfam #jubileeshalom #job121”

She also shared a passage from the Bible — Job 1:21, which reads, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither; the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away.”

“Blessed be the name of the Lord,” the passage concluded.

The pics were originally taken as part of a memorial service held in honor of the stillborn baby, and stirred up tons of controversy upon release.

The Duggar family shared the miscarried fetus pic shortly after the child’s memorial service.

Some commenters were supportive of the photos that Jill shared … others, not so much.

One follower wrote, “So sorry for your loss but will NEVER EVER forget how beautifully your family showed the world the precious life of the unborn child – fearfully and wonderfully made sweet Jubilee – Rest In Peace in God’s Divine hands.”

Another commented, “AMEN. I also lost a precious baby. I hope to meet that little one in heaven.”

Others, however, weren’t as supported, and outright called the images — and Jill — crass.

“Pictures of a dead fetus….? Really?” a commenter said, apparently disgusted.

“No happy birthday to Josie but all of a sudden, Jubilee: Memba her?” wrote another.

On the whole, however, the Duggars received widespread support, and the naysayers were few and far between.

Instead of slamming the photos, they decided to argue religion instead.

That’s progress, if nothing else, right?

Baby Jubilee would have been five years old today, had she lived.

Barron Trump Video Creator Issues Apology, Removes Controversial Footage

Melania Trump has clearly learned a lot from her husband.

The impending First Lady just used the threat of a lawsuit to get an everyday citizen to grovel at her feet, while also do her exact bidding.

In this case, however, we can’t really hold anything against Melania.

She was just defending her son, after all. Allow us to explain…

Early last week, a YouTube user named James Hunter shared a seven-minute video of Barron Trump on the campaign trail with his father.

The footage featured the 10-year old acting restless in a chair, clapping without having his hands touch and exhibiting other signs on the spectrum of Autisim.

This is what Hunter wondered and alleged, that is.

The video then went mainstream after Donald Trump rival Rosie O’Donnell linked to it on her Twitter account, asking followers whether Barron was actually Autistic.

This created quite an uproar, although Rosie later tried to explain that her own daughter is Autistic and she was simply saying that Barron’s diagnosis might help bring attention to this disease.

O’Donnell didn’t hide her disdain for the President-Elect, but said she has no “ill will” toward members of his family.

But she still helped the video go viral, which prompted Melania Trump to say she would sue Hunter if he did not remove it from the Internet.

Via a statement through her lawyer, Melania also plainly said that Barron Trump is NOT Autistic.

On Tuesday, not only did Hunter obey Melania’s instruction that he take down the video, but he also offered a very public and heartfelt Mea Culpa.

He even put it on YouTube.

The video is titled “My Apology To Melania and Barron Trump” and it is comprised of the following words:

“On November 11, 2016, I posted a YouTube video titled: ‘Is Barron Trump Autistic #StopTheBullying.’

“n the video, I suggested Barron Trump might suffer from autism. This is in fact, 100 percent false.

“It was incredibly irresponsible of me to diagnose Barron Trump using a selection of misleading videos. Many of the videos I used showed Barron Trump behaving like any normal kid would at 3 a.m.

“I falsely correlated him trying to stay awake and occasionally doing quirky things, with him suffering from autism. This was incredibly foolish of me.”

You can watch the apologetic video here:

Hunter continues in it:

“My video was originally intended as an anti-bullying video, as I myself suffer from autism and wanted to educate people. Unfortunately, I completely misdiagnosed a person and ended up making a video that was false, defamatory and malicious.

“I retract every single statement I made in that horrendous video, and want to sincerely apologize to the Trump family, especially to Melania and Barron Trump.

“I can understand if you might not want to accept my apology, but please know I didn’t mean to hurt anyone with my video.

“I wish your family nothing but good luck, safety, and love, as you prepare to become the next First Family of the United States.”

Sounds pretty darn sincere, doesn’t it?

We’re guessing no lawsuit will be filed and this will be the end of this scandal.

We can all now return to wondering what the heck Barron’s father will Tweet next…

Farrah Abraham Defends Controversial Photos of Daughter Sophia

Earlier this year, a series of photos of Farrah Abraham’s daughter, Sophia, ignited a firestorm of controversy on social media.

Many fans were shocked to learn that Sophia is trying to make it as a model at the tender age of 7 – with her mother’s encouragement, of course.

Obviously, Farrah has never been one to back down from a controversy, so she’s continued to post posed, professional photos of her heavily made-up daughter in hopes of attracting the attention of talent agencies.

With the kind of blind brazenness she’s become well known for, Abraham made it clear that she won’t allow critics – or the fact that the pics occasionally make no damn sense – to stop her:

If you figure out what Farrah’s daughter in a flower crown has to do with a Martin Luther King quote about racial injustice, please drop us a line.

Anyway, Farrah took a short break from promoting the new season of Teen Mom: OG (premiering in August) and her upcoming appearance on Million Dollar Matchmaker (tonight) to toss up a word salad about the modeling controversy:

“There’s a lot of young children who do modeling, and everyone loves her pictures,” she said.

“I think because we’re on Teen Mom: OG, we get bad criticism, but Sophia’s doing amazing in modeling, I couldn’t be more proud of her – she’s opening up her own children’s boutique, we’re selling clothing.

“So the more pictures and more she’s in a positive light and happy with what she’s doing, there’s nothing wrong with embracing how awesome Sophia is.”

Not bad criticism! That’s the worst kind!

As for the seemingly random pairing of Sophia and MLK, Farrah says there was some logic behind the Instagram post that seemed to baffle thousands:

“I’m not showing anything off,” she told People

“I actually loved the image, I loved the Martin Luther King quote and I love inspiring people.”

“I think everyone should can share whatever they wish when their heart is touched and they want to spread more positivity rather than segregation and separation in this world.”

Eh, sure.

If it helped her little girl feel like she was contributing something toward making the world a less frightening place, we suppose it’s fine.

Besides, Farrah makes more sense talking about that than when she shares her thoughts on her daughter’s “career”:

“I think all of our children are little stars, and if they want to take pictures like everyone does, there’s nothing to judge,” she concluded.

“It’s being inspired, it’s being creative, it’s being artsy, and I’m thankful that she has that drive.”

Yes, Farrah admires her 7-year-old daughter’s “drive.”

This situation will really get interesting once Sophia surpasses her intellectually in a couple years.

Derick Dillard SLAMMED For Controversial Photo of Baby Israel

These days, it seems hardly a week goes by without the Duggar family being embroiled in some sort of controversy.

Often, the complaints from fans and detractors are legitimate (We won’t even bother to rehash the many ugly chapters of the Josh Duggar sex scandals.), but sometimes they’re classic cases of manufactured Internet outrage.

The latest kerfuffle – having to do with the above photo of baby Israel that was posted by Derick Dillard last night – seems to be somewhere in between, but leans closer to the latter category.

In anticipation of the Oklahoma State University football season (It’s still July, Der! Chill!) Dillard posted the above photo with a caption reading:

“Pistols firing! Only 45 days til some OSU cowboy football starts! Go Pokes!”

Fans saw two causes for complaint, both of which smacked of serious nit-picking.

For one, there was baby Izzy’s hand gesture and Derick’s caption, which some believed to be insensitive in the wake of recent gun violence.

Far be it for us to defend anyone in the Duggar clan (even if they happen to be a Dillard), but Pistol Pete has been the OSU mascot for decades, and it’s not like Derick put an actual gun in the kid’s hand.

The other complaint is almost as baffling, as several fans took issue with the placement of the straps on Israel’s car seat:

“Good god someone please adjust that child’s chest clip. That’s horrific,” wrote one follower, instigating a tense debate about the importance of car seat safety.

The whole thing was reminiscent of the time Jinger Duggar was criticized for failing to properly secure Josh and Anna’s 4-year-old son.

Thankfully, in both cases, someone pointed out that there was no indication that the car was actually in motion at the time the photo was taken.

Big Ang: Late Mob Wives Star Honored With Controversial Dance Party

Back in February, popular Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away after struggling with stage four cancer that had spread to several vital organs.

Last month, we reported on her husband Neil Murphy’s controversial plan to honor Raiola with a memorial concert and dance party at her favorite club in Staten Island.

Why would such a tribute meet with any sort of opposition?

Well, for starters, Raiola and Murphy were estranged in the months leading up to his death.

Accounts concur that Ang forgave Neil on her deathbed, but even so, many of the raspy-voiced reality star’s family and friends believe that Murphy’s main concern these days isn’t honoring Ang’s life, but cashing in on her death.

Raiola’s sister, Janine Detore, has publicly accused Murphy of organizing the party as a way of using Ang’s death as a way to line his own pockets.

“Don’t you think it’s odd though that a lawyer and estranged husband is doing this?” she asked in a recent interview.

But despite Detore’s objection the Big Ang Big Dance Party went off without a hitch last night.

“We had a beautiful night and phenomenal lineup of talent,” Angela’s attorney Stephen Spinelli told E! News after the charity event.

“All of the talent donated their acts and services to the show. You couldn’t ask for a better lineup.”

Spinelli adds that stars from Jersey Shore and Orange is the New Black showed up to raise a glass to one of the more iconic reality stars of recent years.

“[Her husband] Neil was very happy to see the turnout and see how many people loved his wife,” Spinelli said.

“All in all, I would categorize it as an upbeat, happy event because that’s what Neil wanted. He was sure that is what Angela wanted. If you knew Angela, she would have said enjoy yourself and get over it.”

Friends and family shared stories about Ang and reminded the crowd of her favorite expression:

“I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.”

“I can’t tell you how rewarding it was when her best friends said Angela would have loved this. This is exactly what she would have wanted,” Spinelli said.

“This is what Angela’s life was all about.”

Duggar Drama: Business Owner Distances Self From Controversial Family

Yesterday, a photo of the several members of the Duggar family at a frozen yogurt shop ignited a mini-controversy.

The owners of Sweet Loring Frozen Yogurt in Laredo, Texas (home of Jinger Duggar’s new boyfriend, Jeremy Vuolo) decided to post the pic on their social media pages.

Anyone who thought the controversy surrounding the former 19 Kids and Counting clan had died down need only read the comments on Sweet Loring’s post to see that many Facebook and Twitter users have no intention of allowing the Josh Duggar sex scandals to be swept back under the rug.

“@SweetLoring Obviously your business is anti gay, woman and transgender. No thank you,” wrote one commenter.

Another noted that several businesses have already cut ties with the Duggars by pulling their advertising dollars from Jill & Jessa: Counting On, writing:

“@SweetLoring Having TLC’s Duggar family promote your place is not a good thing. Over 1,000 advertisers have dropped this family.”

On every major social media platform, the photo was bombarded with similar comments, with many calling for a boycott of Sweet Loring.

Needless to say, the proprietors quickly learned a lesson that so many politicians and former TLC advertisers already knew:

These days, the Duggars don’t make good business partners.

The post was quickly deleted, and the shop issued the following apology:

“On behalf of Sweet Loring we apologize for all the distress our post has caused; We do not support the views of the Duggar family, that was not our intention.

“We respect our community however we do not condone negative comments of any sort on our page therefore we will be removing the post. And again we welcome Everyone to our Shop.”

Hopefully the folks in Laredo and the online community will be accepting of the apology.

Using the Duggars to promote your business isn’t the brightest idea, but folks who work in the FroYo biz in Texas bordertowns probably don’t see many celebs.

Let’s chalk the pic up to the owner being momentarily star struck and move along, mmm-kay?

Johnny Depp Hangs With Controversial Friend, Sports Dumb Haircut

Last week, it was widely reported that Johnny Depp was hiding out on his private island and planned to continue doing so until the controversy surrounding his ugly divorce from Amber Heard begins to subside.

So you can imagine our shock when Depp popped up in LA this week sporting a hipstery new ‘do and hanging with comic Doug Stanhope and noted Taylor Swift songbook interpreter Ryan Adams.

Depp’s return to LA isn’t even the most surprising thing about this photo.

Rather, it’s the fact that he’s hanging out with Stanhope, who’s been a magnet for bad press throughout Depp’s divorce, in part due to some remarkably asinine comments he made in a blog post that was later published on The Wrap.

As you may recall, the boozy, cultishly adored comic (whose age is unknown according to Wikipedia) was one of the many celebs who rushed to Depp’s defense in the days after Heard’s domestic violence accusations went public.

Stanhope took things a step further than the rest, accusing Heard of blackmail in a scathing takedown.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Stanhope clarified that he didn’t choose the headline “Johnny Depp is Being Blackmailed By Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know,” but that doesn’t change with the fact that it fit the article that followed just fine.

Several media outlets have described Stanhope as Depp’s “best friend,” a title that formerly belonged to the ghost of Hunter S. Thompson who’s been known to visit the actor while he’s in the throes of the morning D.T.s.

Tim Burton remains unable to transcend his “Morrissey-loving goth who gets to sit at the cool kids’ table” status.

Anyway, sources say Depp not only posed for photos but jumped on stage at the famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd., thus confirming that he has zero f–ks to give about negative press.

Is he a modern day pirate with swagger to spare, or a wet-brained, tone deaf star who’s blissfully unaware that he’s in the midst of a potentially career-ending controversy.

You be the judge.

All we really be sure of at this point is that Johnny may have pulled off the nigh-impossible by beating out Ryan for the Dumbest Hipster Haircut in the Photo award.

A prestigious honor.

Jessa Duggar Pens Father"s Day Tribute, Reveals Controversial Money-Saving Measures

Yesterday was Father’s Day, and like every year, the day saw countless celebs paying tribute to their pops on social media.

But for all that online love, it’s possible that no one penned a lengthier ode to dear old dad than Jessa Duggar.

Jessa took to her blog to post a list of 101 reasons that she’s grateful for Jim Bob Duggar.

As you might guess, Jesus’ name comes up more times than in the New Testament.

But in addition to the usual endless Bible-thumping, Jessa shares some interesting revelations about the cost-cutting measures necessitated by raising 19 freakin’ kids.

She lists one of the things she’s thankful for as:

“The special times when we went out to eat (yes, we most definitely took advantage of kids-eat-free, the modern day policies of “2 children per paying adult” probably happened because of us??)”

It was clearly meant to be a lighthearted reminiscence, but a lot of commenters on social media have taken it as another indication that the Jim Bob and Michelle had more kids than they were able to support and milked the system as a result.

The Duggars have boasted about taking advantage of loopholes and corporate offers in the past, particularly in the months after  TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting, thus cutting off the family’s primary means of support.

For instance, back in September, Krispy Kreme offered a free box of donuts to anyone who came into one of their locations dressed like a pirate.

The Duggars put on their seafaring garb and hit up one store for fourteen boxes of donuts.

The comments on the above photo were not kind, as most fans seemed to feel that the older Duggar siblings were effectively teaching the younger ones how to take advantage of the generosity of others.

Perhaps it wouldn’t be such an issue if the family hadn’t repeatedly boasted about getting by without welfare or any other form of public assistance.

As it is, in paying tribute to her father, Jessa may have inadvertently re-ignited a Duggar controversy.

Duggar Family Linked to Controversial Teen Marriage Cult

Over the years, the Duggar family’s strict fundamentalist religious beliefs have stirred up a good deal of public debate, much of it stemming from their involvement in the controversial Quiverfull movement.

Last week, Raw Story published an article from a former Quiverfull adherent that describes a convention designed to help parents find suitable arranged marriage partners for girls in their teens so that they can start producing offspring.

The disturbing event was coordinated by Quiverfull founder Vaughn Ohlman who believed that girls should be married off as soon as they’re “physically mature enough to handle” childbirth “without damage.”

The self-appointed minister advocates finding husbands for girls as young as 12, writing on his website that the Bible defines the “‘flower of her age’ (1 Corinthians 7:36) as ‘from twelve to twenty years of age."”

Ohlman writes that in ideal cases, the girls will consent to the marriage, but the type of “obedient consent” he imagines doesn’t allow for the possibility that they might say no:

“But it is very important to realize that this type of “consent” is the kind of obedient consent we see in the examples of Adam, Eve, Isaac, Rebecca, and Christ,” he says on his website.

“It is consent where the son or daughter, realizing that their father has bound them and then submits to the covenant as binding, recognizing the good gift their father has given them.”

The event was to be held in Kansas (as it’s one of the few states that has no age requirement for marriage as long as the kids have proof of parental consent), but was canceled at the last minute due to pressure from protest groups.

Needless to say, it’s not the kind of thing most reality TV families would like to be linked to, but the Duggars remain proud Quiverfull devotees.

Dozens of fans have flooded the family’s social media accounts this week requesting a comment on the controversial convention and asking if they condone it, but the family members who are permitted to use social media (Read: those who are already married off) have yet to respond.

This latest scandal comes on the heels of news that the Duggars’ former minister Bill Gothard is being sued by dozens of men and women who claim he oversaw decades of systematic sexual abuse.

Not surprisingly, the Duggars have yet to comment on that on that story as well.

Though they’ve answered questions about Josh Duggar’s molestation of his sisters, parents Jim Bob and Michelle have yet to respond to claims that his actions may have been partially motivated by the culture of childhood sexual assault found within the Quiverfull movement.

Justin Bieber: Criticized By PETA For Controversial Photo

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words.

We don’t know if that’s true, but this photo of Justin Bieber chillin’ with a tiger is worth at least one WTF?! and two clear observations:

  1.  Justin finally cut his dreadlocks, so the world can now get back to making fun of everything else about him.

  2. That tiger doesn’t look too thrilled to be there.

Not surprisingly, PETA is focusing on the latter aspect of the pic, which was posted to Bieber’s Instagram page over the weekend.

Apparently, the tiger was one of the attractions at an engagement party for Bieber’s father, because if there are no jungle beasts, how will people know you’re serious about getting hitched?

Anyway, as you probably know, PETA is not big on wildlife being held captive for the amusement of rich D-bags, and they’ve taken to social media to express their thoughts on the Bieber Boys’ fondness for using endangered species as status symbols:

“Justin Bieber is lucky not to have had his throat torn out by this stressed captive tiger,” wrote PETA representative Lisa Lange in a statement posted online today.

“We know he (Bieber) is drawn to animals, but this is the very worst way to recognize this interest because exotic animals are usually torn away from their mothers prematurely, beaten into submission by trainers, are often doped up to be docile, and are deprived of everything that’s natural and important to them.”

Apparently the situation is particularly egregious as it’s believed that the tiger is owned by Michael Hackenbeger, a trainer for Hollywood movies, who is currently under investigation for animal cruelty.

“The tiger who appeared at the Bieber party is identical to Robbie, a Bowmanville Zoo tiger we know is used for encounters with the public and was used in The Interview,” reps claim, adding that Robbie is thought to be one of the animals Hackenberger abused.

The organization says it also sent a letter to Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, encouraging the pop idol to set a better example for his fans:

“To people with huge influence like Justin Bieber, our message is simple: tigers are wild animals, not entertainers,” PETA says.

“People posing with wildlife don’t realize that a ‘once in a lifetime’ photo for them means a lifetime of misery for the animal,” the group said in a statement.”

Sadly, this is not the first time Justin’s treatment of animals has been criticized.

In 2013 Bieber adopted a pet monkey, which he was forced to turn over to German authorities when he attempted to take it on tour.

Jill & Jessa Counting On: Anti-Child Abuse Groups Slam TLC For Controversial Series

It’s been a month since the Duggars returned to television with the first full season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, and not surprisingly, reactions have been mixed.

Ratings for the show have been solid, but the fallout from the Josh Duggar sex scandals remains, and Counting On has struggled to find advertisers, with several companies pulling ads in order to avoid controversy.

Now, TLC is coming under fire for allegedly sending a mixed message to viewers with a series of public service announcements.

The network has partnered with Darkness to Light – an organization that benefits the victims of childhood sexual abuse – for a series of ads that will air throughout April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Unfortunately, the network’s humanitarian efforts may have backfired, as many viewers have taken to social media to voice their displeasure with

“TLC has a promo for child abuse month, but they’re paying a family who has a son who abused his siblings, and then the family proceeded to cover it up. Stop being hypocrites. ‪#‎NoMoreDuggars‬. ‪#‎NoExcuseForAbuse‬,” one Twitter user wrote.

“You keep supporting the most vile and bigoted family in the USA… yes, the Duggars and their offspring, and yet you tout your support of CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH,” one woman commented on Facebook.

“Are you kidding???? The only way you will show your support of CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH is to announce that you have canceled any show in the future associated with the Duggar, Seewald, or Dillard families!”

The network has yet to respond to the controversy, but if the outcry continues, the Duggars may be facing another humiliating cancelation.
