Dave Schwartz Dies; Weather Channel Meteorologist Was 63

Dave Schwartz has lost his battle with cancer.

The Weather Channel meteorologist, who has defeated that horrible disease two times in the past, was 63 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to let you know that Dave Schwartz has passed away,” the Weather Channel said in a statement on Facebook.

“He was a fan and staff favorite because he so obviously loved what he did and had a unique ability to draw viewers into the fascinating world of weather.”

Concluded the emotional message:

“His passion for weather was contagious and inspired many to enter the field of meteorology. His passion and love of weather will never be forgotten, he will be greatly missed.”

About a decade ago, Schwartz was given just a year to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

According to the station, he then suffered through an unsuccessful procedure to remove a tumor.

However, after radiation and chemotherapy treatments and another procedure, he was deemed cancer free.

Months later, though, his pancreatic cancer had returned… yet he found a treatment and became cancer free once more. 

Last year, the beloved weatherman was diagnosed for a third time.

After taking some time off and after receiving comments and messages of support from viewers, he addressed his battle with the illness on air.

“I want to let you know the reason why I have lost 35 pounds in the last five months is that I am being treated for cancer,” he said on World Cancer Day in February.

“Stomach cancer, of all things for a foodie.”

Schwartz went on to discuss his experience in detail, aiming to give fellow cancer fighters hope.

His co-workers at the Weather Channel remember him as “the most creative personality to ever appear on The Weather Channel.”

“Everything was genuine about this wonderful man. He was everybody’s friend and that’s what he really wanted to be.

“He made so many of us laugh, smile, and wish we were like him. He was so genuine and trustworthy – things that come from the soul and cannot be taught …

Over the course of his Presidential campaign, Donald Trump has insulted Mexicans.

And Muslims. 

And women.

She has appeared on the covers of such publications as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair.

So one could argue that Donald Trump knew who he was marrying and that any photo Melania willfully posed for in a professional context is fair game.

But this does seem unnecessarily sleazy and shameful, doesn’t it?

Antonio Armstrong, Former NFL Linebacker, Killed by Son

An unspeakable tragedy has struck the world of professional sports.

Antonio Armstrong, a former linebacker for the Miami Dolphins was shot and killed along with his wife in Houston, Texas.

Police have confirmed that the main suspect in the crime is the couple’s 16-year old son.

The young man’s name has not been released to the public due to his age, he has been charged with murder as a juvenile and is being questioned by authorities.

According to a local NBC affiliate, the 42-year old Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were found at approximately 2 a.m. after police responded to a 911 call.

Dawn was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

The ex-NFL player was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and listed in critical condition… but later passed away from a gunshot wound to the head.

The couple’s two other kids were at home at the time of the incident, but were unharmed.

Those familiar with the family are attempting to come to grips with how this could have happened.

“This was an outstanding family. The male of the family was an absolute hard-working breadwinner,” local homicide lnvestigator Jimmy Dodson said, via KPRC.

“He was an associate pastor in the area church. He’s a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members.

“Like I said, it was kind of the all-American family.”

Investigators who searched the southwest Houston residence discovered a still-smoking gun with a note next to it that reads “I’ve been watching you.”

Police then arrested the 16-year-old boy.

“There was nothing left out. There was no neglect or anything. There was nothing that even could possibly have justified this situation,” Dawn Armstrong’s cousin, Vaun Lee, told reporters.

“This doesn’t even make sense. It makes no sense.”

Prior to turning professional, Armstrong was a college football star at Texas A&M, where he played for the Aggies from 1991 to 1994.

The university released the following message on Twitter soon after the horrible news broke:

Armstrong was named first-team Associated Press All-America linebacker in 1994 and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

He was released that October after suffering an ankle injury and signed with the Dolphins, with whom he recorded four solo tackles his room season.

“Antonio was a special young man. He was an All-American and an outstanding player, but he was an even better person,” his former head coach at A&M, R.C. Slocum, said in a statement.

“He was such a positive influence on his teammates. He always had a great big smile and was a joy to coach.”

The Dolphins said via statement that they were “saddened by the tragic” deaths, adding:

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

A GoFundMe page, meanwhile, has been created to help the family in the aftermath of the shooting; thus far, it has raised over $ 53,000.

“Let’s rally around this family and show them how much we loved Dawn and Antonio, and that we will miss them and their big hearts dearly,” the page reads.

Bristol Palin Shares Pic of Toddler Son Shooting a Gun

For the second time this month, Bristol Palin is under fire for sharing a photo of one of her kids…

… and a gun.

A couple weeks ago, Palin posted a picture to Instagram of her baby daughter, Sailor, posing alongside her father, Dakota Meyer, and some sort of antique weapon.

The photo raised many concerns for parents across the Internet.

But, in fairness, it was an ancient gun that was no longer able to be fired, as you can see below:

The same, though, cannot be said of Bristol’s latest Instagram image.

In the first picture posted above, Bristol is standing with seven-year old Tripp, keeping an eye on the toddler as he shoots an actual weapon.

Wearing safety glasses and ear protection, just as her child is, Bristol captioned the photo as follows:

“#trapper #safetyfirst #teachingthemyoung.”

As you might expect, the picture has divided those on social media.

Some are aghast at the sight of a firearm in the hands of a young child.

What’s the point, they might ask? Why take any chance that this kid could get hurt? And why teach him about shooting a gun at such an early age?

Others, however, are standing up for the controversial daughter of Sarah Palin.

For example, @nattythorn78 wrote as a comment to the picture: “Good job! Teaching them to respect guns young is a great gift to children.”

And @adecoratingmom chimed in with the following:

“Great teaching your kids that guns need to be treated safely. Don’t let the wackos gun control haters deter you. Great job @bsmp2.”

We’d say that one can teach one’s child about gun safety while still pushing for reasonable gun control measures. But whatever.

Where do you stand on Palin’s latest scandal? Is it a scandal in your mind?

Should parents teach their kids how to handle weapons? Yes, but not at this young of an age? No, never?

There are many sides one can take in response to this photo.

Unlike Bristol’s response to this year’s Oscar race controversy, this isn’t the dumbest thing she has ever dumb or said.

According to a recent interview, Kim Kardashian is just like Adele.

Kanye West made this comparison when speaking to Harper"s Bazaar about his wife"s body and how she is almost obligated to show it off, the same way Adele is almost obligated to sing because she had such an amazing voice.

Really. Kanye said this.

As a questionable of a comparison as this may be, however, Kim makes an even more questionable comparison this Sunday on her family"s reality show.

She says she has something in common with Ernest Miller Hemingway.

Yes, the same Ernest Miller Hemingway who was an American novelist, short story writer and journalist and who once resided in Cuba.

Those who watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians online or on television next week will see Kim and Kourtney visit his home in that country.

Once there, they will be given a tour that includes a look inside Hemingway"s bathroom.

When they see a scale and are told that the beloved author weighed himself daily and took notes on the wall, Kim says she does the same thing.

Sadly, we believe her.

Elsewhere in this clip, Kourtney seems very unexcited by the experience… while Kim makes a reference to Khloe.

She says she wishes her other sister was along for the trip and hints at something personal that has kept Khloe away.

Hayes Grier Assures Fans: I"m Okay!!!

Listen closely. Do you hear that sound?

It’s the sound of millions of young teenage girls letting out a sigh of relief.

How come?

BECAUSE HAYES GRIER IS OKAY, FOLKS!

The Internet sensation still has a long road to go before he is in prime physical condition, but the 16-year old used social media on Friday to assure fans that he’s up for the challenge.

On Thursday, Grier was involved in a serious dirt biking accident.

It’s unclear exactly what went down, except that the crash took place in North Carolina and Grier’s brother was VERY concerned soon after it went down.

He tries to keep fans apprised of his sibling’s condition, but the concern came through loud and clear from Nash Grier.

“He can move & talk (thank god) but he’s coughed up a lot of blood. That’s all I know,” Nash originally Tweeted, later adding:

“Praying he has a quick recovery… Damn I hate hearing s–t like that on the phone, scared me to death.”

But now Hayes has taken to Twitter to calm both his brother down and his legion of followers down.

“Doing good guys, little banged up but we’ll be alright. Part of having fun,” Grier wrote along with the photo above, which was obviously snapped of him in the hospital.

In a subsequent message on Twitter, he added: “thank you for the good wishes.”

In addition to his own social media, Hayes re-Tweeted a number of media reports about his crash.

Soon after word spread that Hayes had been injured, the hashtag “#PrayForHayes” proceeded to spread on Twitter.

It’s understandable why.

Just 16, Grier has amassed 3.53 million Twitter followers… 5.3 million Instagram followers… 4.4 million Vine followers … and 848,000 YouTube subscribers.

Hayes had been back home in North Carolina, filming his new comedic docs-series, “Top Grier,” when the accident occurred.

The program centers around him returning to Mooresville, where he attempts to run his family’s 19-acre farm.

It is schedule to consist of 12 half-hour episodes that can be viewed on Verizon’s Go90 via mobile devices.

He competed on Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars (see below) and made it to Week 7.

We wish him a speedy recovery!

Just a few weeks after we learned that Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo were courting, the couple hit us with an even bigger surprise…

Yes, we now know that Jinger and Jeremy are engaged, and it seems that they’ll be wasting no time in getting to the altar.

The couple has been tight-lipped with regard to an exact date, but insiders say preparations are already well under way.

Naturally, the whole thing is being documented for Jill & Jessa: Counting On Season 2, and it’s safe to assume Jinger and Jeremy’s wedding will be televised.

While Jill and Jessa both married native Arkansans, Jinger wound with a Philadelphia boy through an odd chain of events.

Jeremy first became acquainted with Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, while traveling in Texas.

They happened to be at the home of a friend of Vuolo’s when he passed through San Antonio.

Vuolo hit it off with the Seewalds, even appearing in some of the faith-based YouTube videos they’ve posted.

Jessa introduced Jeremy to her younger sister Jinger, but it wasn’t until the two of them wound up on a missionary trip together that they hit it off. 

A former pro soccer player, Jeremy is somewhat accustomed to the limelight, but he’s about to be in the public eye like never before.

It’s good to see that he’s giving himself a little media training.

Keshia Knight Pulliam on Divorce Drama: No More Tears!

Keshia Knight Pulliam is choosing to focus on the positive.

Yes, the former child star is getting divorced.

Yes, husband Ed Hartwell dropped this unfortunate nugget into her lap this week and, yes, he even include the demand for a paternity suit in the divorce documents.

Also: yes, Hartwell didn’t paint Pulliam in a very good light when he told The New York Post that she was baby-obsessed and that she would disappear on him for nights at a time, hence his questions over the father of her child.

But still.

Pulliam is here to say that she’s doing just fine.

“It’s Friday, and I’ve made it,” the actress said today on her podcast, Kandidly Keshia, adding:

“One thing you know in show business is that the show must always go on.

“I’ve definitely had a trying week, to say the least, but I’m grateful, I’m here, I’m well, baby girl is well and, at the end of the day, that is all that matters.”

Pulliam ism indeed, pregnant with a girl.

It’s unclear when she is due, but she’ll be raising the child on her own.

“Despite what’s been publicized, there’s always funny, there’s always love, there’s always laughter, no matter what,” Pulliam said of her ongoing “little situation.”

This would include a divorce from the man she married a mere seven months ago.

Hartwell said in his latest interview that Pulliam wanted to have a child right away.

Despite his protestations, the couple did get pregnant… but then they grew apart.

When Hartwell admitted to still having feelings for his ex, he says Pulliam flipped out and basically vanished from his life.

Pulliam, however, shared her side of the story with Entertainment Tonight, telling the outlet on Wednesday that Hartwell is the one who cheated.

She says she was not paid for that appearance.

“There’s no amount of money that could replace that, and it was about the opportunity to share my truth – share what has actually happened to me,” she said today.

“And I’m grateful for it because of how many women I’ve been able to empower, because silence is what allows this to continue, for people to suffer, for people to feel alone, and I’m human – we all have stuff, I’m not excluded.

“So the fact that I was able to help even one woman, for me, makes it all worth it.”

Later in the podcast, Pulliam said she will never be friends with Hartwell’s ex-wife, Lisa Wu, though she wants to make it clear that she did NOT steal anyone’s husband.

“The show must go on, you just keep it movin,” Pulliam concluded on air.

“This isn’t the final destination – it’s a pit stop. No more tears, I’m laughing all the way from this point and enjoying life.”

After recording the podcast, Pulliam shared the following photo on Instagram and wrote a note of gratitude to her supporters.

Taylor Swift: Is She Voting For Donald Trump?!

Just before Hillary Clinton accepted her party’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention last night, another wildly famous and influential woman took the stage.

Sure, Katy Perry isn’t exactly a major figure in the world of American politics, but she’s the most-followed person on Twitter and one of the most recognizable women in the world.

Perry taking the stage to endorse Hillary made the GOP’s use of Z-list celebs like Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato, Jr. seem even more ridiculous in contrast.

But it’s possible that the folks who put together the RNC’s baffling guest list weren’t the only ones stewing as they watched Hillary’s star-studded coronation.

At this point the feud between Perry and Taylor Swift is one of the most notorious in Hollywood.

It’s dragged on for years, inspired hit diss tracks, and prompted more than a few amusingly shady tweets.

While she has many celebrity foes, Katy is the closest thing that Taylor has to an arch-nemesis.

So it’s possible that despite her commitment to feminism (though it’s worth noting that she’s been described as a “fake feminist” by other young female celebs), Taylor may not have tuned in to witness one of the most important moments in the history of American women.

Add to that the fact that Swift has some indirect ties to the Trump family, and it’s enough to make you wonder whom the iconic singer will be casting a ballot for in November.

As you may know, Taylor’s best friend is Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss.

What you probably weren’t aware of is that for the past four years, Kloss has been dating Joshua Kushner, brother of Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner.

Kushner spoke at the RNC last week, making it clear that he’s no silent bystander in his father-in-law’s rise to power.

Obviously, we have no way of knowing if Swift’s relationships with Kloss and Kushner have influenced her political leanings, but it’s interesting that while her high-profile friends like Lena Dunham have come out in full-throated support of Hillary, Swift has remained conspicuously silent.

Trump and Swift may not be the likeliest allies, but the real estate mogul has expressed his fondness for the singer in the past…

…and it’s possible the two of them have an “enemy of my enemy is my friend” understanding going on.

It’s tough to imagine Swift actually voting for a candidate who’s been so openly misogynistic throughout his career – but you can bet she won’t be voicing an endorsement for Hillary any time soon.

This may be hard to believe, but the women at the center of Teen Mom are not exactly the most stable individuals on the planet.

1. Porn Goodness Sake!

Farrah Abraham was not part of the OG cast when the core four returned to MTV. When she did finally come back halfway through the season, Maci Bookout threatened to quit. “I don’t judge Farrah or dislike her, but Bentley’s in kindergarten,” she explained of the sex tape maven. “So kids already ask him about being on TV. And now it’s like, ‘Oh, is your mom the one who did a sex tape? Is your mom the one who did a porn?"” After Farrah confronted her, Maci walked away, referring to Farrah as a “dog.”

2. Ryan Edwards FTW!

Bookout’s baby daddy, Ryan Edwards, could not remain quiet after Abraham slammed his ex on Twitter. “I think when you take dick in your ass, you shouldn’t be able to talk to anyone,” he incredible wrote.

3. Talk About Poor Choices!

Remember when Abraham and Catelynn Lowell were best friends? Until the former explained how she was “very sad” to see her and Tyler Baltierra “make poor choices” by having a second child after placing their first daughter up for adoption. “Poor choices?” Baltierra shot back. “I don’t recall making a porn to support my child lol.”

4. Everyone Versus Farrah!

Another time, Lowell mentioned how Abraham dissed them for not putting their kids on the cover of their books. “It’s a slap in the face when you’re coming at us on Twitter,” Amber Portwood said, as Abraham responded. “There’s no passive aggressiveness, I noticed something, and I voiced it.”

5. It’s Getting Ugly

Lowell and Abraham went at it once more when Abraham said her colleague has a “weight issue,”” to which Lowell replied: “Go ahead call me on my weight issues when u see me next time I’ll look way hotter than u so get a life. At least I work to look good. I don’t waste my money on plastic surgery!”

6. Snapchat Seen ‘Round the World

During an alcohol-fueled evening, Lowell, Portwood and Bookout went after Abraham on Snapchat. “We be stuntin on hoes,” Portwood said, as Lowell toasted: “To Farrah, that f**king hoe b***h. Amen to that b***h!”
